Long time since I last updated this.

Let's see if I can come up with anything worth mentioning. Uh, it's not that nothing goes on in my life, it's just that I don't have much time to post about it. Even now I have a few things I might mention, but where to start?

Hmmmm

I went bike shopping yesterday. And actually wanted to go earlier than I eventually did, but meh. Beer on Friday night, and for once I didn't have to go anywhere on Saturday morning. Usually I have either work or rehearsal.

I needed a new bike because....eh...well....my previous one got stolen a while ago. (I had planned to post a "The thieves, the filthly little thieves! They stole it! They stole the precious!"-kind of entry, but somehow never got the time for it)

So I've been using my dad's old bike for now. There's a teensie weensie problem with that, though. It's probably even older than me. Not that *that* is a problem all by itself. I mean, there are a lot of people older than me, but eh. No idea where this is heading. Anyway, my dad's bike is a bit like having a concorde patched together with duct tape. It gets you from A to B, but you're always happy when arriving without having too much C in the equasion.

So yesterday I first looked a bit online to see if I could find any decent bike shops. I know one that I usually go to for repairs and stuff, but wanted to give other places a change, too. I finally had 3 shops I wanted to visit, including the one I just mentioned. When I finally outside, I looked at the time, and thought I wouldn't make it in time walking. So I went back to get my dad's bike. (yes, the one falling apart)

I found the first shop, but oh the horror. Where did they put the door? I still haven't figured it out. So I was kind of pissed off by that, and just went to the shop I mentioned above.

And that's where I ordered my new bike. I can get some discount from work. There's this deal that let's you buy a new bike and paying part of it from your salary before taxes. Or rather, they temporally shift the difference of your income before and after the income tax thingies. Meh, why don't you all speak Dutch. It would make it so much easier to explain! :-P

Anyway, the bike is nothing really fancy. But it's good enough for my daily trips to and from work, and my evening rehearsals and concerts. I've included an insurance thingie for (if I remember correctly) 3 years. Plus a maxi big (chain?) lock thingie. That alone costs EUR 50,-! *roar!* :-P

Everything will be ready on Wednesday, but I probably won't have much time then. So that will probably be Saturday. But hooray for new bike!

Hmmm, what else?

Work is a bit busy lately. I normally work 40 hours, but last week I've done 45. And it'll be 45 hours this week again, too. And I probably have to start training people in 1 or 2 weeks time. Or well, I don't *have* to. Well, I don't have to if I don't want to, but my manager kind of suggested it to me. I've done some coaching of new people before. But that was just on the workfloor itself. And usually just one at a time. This time, it's probably a whole group of 10 people thingies! Oh the horror! :-P

Not sure if I should do it. I probably will, but am still having some doubts. I'm not really teacher material. Or rather, don't want to become too much like a teacher. Not that teachers are bad! Don't get me wrong. I know a lot of people that have a carreer in teaching. But I wasn't a student/pupil for any of them. The teachers I had were not always nice. Or rather, some were, but I also remember one or two rating highly on the "Stupid Bitch"-scale. :-P

So, any thoughts on this? Should I go do the training of minions/slaves/sith apprentices eh I mean new people, or not?

Anything else I should mention and/or you'd like to know?
