Not sure if the point of this post will be complaining or excited w00t-ing. Maybe by the end of it, I’ll have figured it out.
Somewhere in my love for all things British TV and all things cookery, I fell in love with the BBC series
MasterChef. It’s been extremely hard to find on BBC America, which ran only 1 full season over here from what I have seen (2005’s season of MasterChef Goes Large, for those who know the series), and does not replay the episodes. There have been a few odd single episodes, I assume when they can’t figure out what else to fill up some time with. (And no spotting of Celebrity MasterChef.) Regardless, I’ve been a one-woman lobbying source for trying to get all the episodes aired over here.
Well now comes the announcement that Gordon Ramsay is going to steal yet another cooking show format and bring it over here. Yay for
MasterChef USA!
The bad news - it’s of course going to be aired on FOX, which ruins every cookery show it touches (case in point: Kitchen Nightmares - we were just watching the BBC version again this weekend = SO. MUCH. BETTER!).
So, I’m squee-ing for getting to see MasterChef more! And wishing BBC America would just air the British versions, which I’m sure I’ll like better. Although, I suppose I can only hope that the airing of the America version on Fox will push BBC America to play the British versions more too?
