Lady A Day 027: Florence Welch
I'm only just getting acquainted with today's lady, Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, which is basically a rotating backup band for the 23-year-old songstress. Along the lines of crystalline voices like Laura Marling or Ane Brun, Florence is a natural talent with her own sound -- a sound that just happens to be really freaking good. It's no surprise that her freshman album Lungs (2009) has been critically adored and that her singles have already made their way into movie and television soundtracks. What's not to love about a fresh, musically gifted redhead with a penchant for quirky performance-wear?
