Weekend review

I had two goals this wekeend: Do my taxes and plant vegetables.

Saturday morning, bright and early, I head into the woodshop for a couple hours... I also chopped some wood for the firepit, and that really wears a body out fast! I played around in the woodshop until about 1pm (including turning a chalice out of a solid block of orange tree that I had just split open) when I realize that I am really, really, thirsty and I should probably go eat something, too.

I also decided that I needed to buy a chainsaw to make working with logs a LOT easier. My first stop was at albertsons to get some cash from the wells fargo that's inside, and they were having a barbecue out in the parking lot, so I had a sausage-dog for lunch. Then I headed over to home depot for the chainsaw and found a screaming deal on a 14" electric chainsaw for only $49.

When I got home, though, I was completely out of energy, so I sat like a lump the rest of the afternoon and into the evening watching TV.. then Glen calls me and asked if I'd like to go shooting sunday morning. I hadn't been shooting for a few months, so I said sure thing!

Sunday morning Glen and I headed out to the open shooting area off of In-Ko-Pah Road and made plinky noises on various targets until around Noon or so. I drove and bought the gas, so Glen bought lunch at Viejas... we both pigged out on the buffet.

When I got home, I emptied out the car and took it to be washed. When I got back, my body decided that it wanted to go into a meat coma, and I fell asleep on the couch watching television again.

Yeah. So I neither did my taxes OR planted my vegetables this weekend, but at least I had fun!

wood, polarden, backyard, guns, shooting
