once i get to japan i want to:
-make friends with my roommates!
-buy a phone card to call home...then get my FIRST cell phone
-buy a laptop with my money from the summer...then set up the internet
-set up my bank account to transfer my money over into yen
-make my appartment confortable...decorate
-buy the necessities: shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste...
-go to a japanese grocery! how exciting!!! except for the lack of peanut butter
-with my first paycheck, buy a new camera....mine's gigantor-nicity is getting embarrasing
-buy sweet japanese postcards and write home
-try some authentic japanese sushi
and what's cool is i have 5 days in japan before i start my orientation, so i'm pumped to explore
goals for japan:
-don't rely on english....learn japanese..quickly
-take every opportunity to make a friend...or boyfriend..if the opportunity arises
-try to soak up as much japanese culture as i can....tv, movies, karaoke, food, traditions
-since i got my international driver's liscence, rent a car and drive around the beautiful island
-create long weekends for travel to the 'mainland japan'
-go to sumo tournaments, and hotsprings, and cherry blossom festivals, and parades..i wonder if they have parades???
