we don't care

so the summer swimming season ended a bit sour with agressive parents and soem frusteration on everyone's part...but it's over...still won't reciever the last couple thousand till i'm gone tho...boo.

i moved out of merritt with tears from my 'fmaily' up there, they showered me with gifts, but i know i'll be keeping in touch, so i'm sure the girls will be ok.

i flew to vegas with my parents and had a great time. to save time i'll make a list of happenings:
-sat/read by the pool....sisterhood of the travelling BOOK!
-played the slots and won $350 the first day
-drank a lot of free drinks in the casinos...and plenty of $1 margheritas
-bought a $12.50 GIANT margherita in a Eiffel Tour souvenir cup...with quite the amount of tequila
-soon after played blackjack for the first time and won $40
-went shopping and spent $250 on clothes for japan..i'm going to be one styling canadian
-went to see a great magic show! dissapearing tigers O MY!
-went to a sweet japanese restaurant where they cooked it in front of you and met some cool table-mates
-went to see a Foulis Berger show...topless dancers with headresses...can can..you get the picture
-explored the wicked casinos...New York New YOrk, the Venitian, MGM grand, Ceaser's palace...all beautiful
-saw a Legends Tribute show...got my pic with 'elvis'...the tempations blew my mind
-ate alot of buffets
-saw a Cirque de Soleil show
-ate at Toby Keith's "I love this Bar and Grill'...fully themed....free shots when they play his song: 'i love this bar'
-went to Circus Circus' Big Top and went on tons of rides
-got LOTS of blisters from walking so much
-it was SOOO hot...like 120...i can't even convert that...but it's in between 40-50 i think.

i'm so glad it went so well. i mostly got along really well with my parents, it was a good replacement for next xmas.

when i came home, i had my japan info waiting for me. i am going to be livign in Okinawa...it's a small group of 161 islands in sub-tropical monsoon counrty...south of the rest of japan...closer to Taiwan. it's a vacation destination, so i'm picturing it kinda like hawaii. my town is half the size of victoria, but i can travel to bigger towns easily. i have two roomates, one from england and one from the U.S. there is a U.S Navy base on the island, so i'm looking forward to big, single, men around! i'm somewhat dissapointed, it's too far away to take a train to the mainland on weekends, but i'm happy for the heat too. never colder than 10 degrees...even in january...such a change from N.S.
