I'm leaving for the Big Ultrasound (tm) in a few. It's over an hour drive to the perinatologist's office and it's a trip I'll be making with the dogs in tow to alleviate both party's anxiety. If you remember the last time I went, I was given a very hard time about getting more than one photo - but you can bet I will raise hell if I don't get more than one crappy print-out this time. Almost every week on the mainstream pregnancy communities I see people posting 10 print-outs from ONE ultrasound session from their prenatal visit. I dont understand why a perinatologists' ultrasound team wouldn't be more thoughtful and sensitive to a loss mama's subsequent pregnancy. No holds barred, though - I am throwing in the "THIS MIGHT BE THE LAST MEMORY I HAVE OF THIS BABY ALIVE" or some such guilt-trip if I have to. It's ridiculous when you consider how much they charge for these visits, too!
John is very excited to know if it's a boy or a girl and has already called me about half a dozen times to make sure I call him as soon as the appointment's over.
If you haven't already filled out the poll, go
here. You don't have to fill out all the questions, but make sure you guess the sex: winners get a PRIZE!
On that note, I am off to enjoy a cup of tea, a bowl of oatmeal, and this growing babe's intraueterine shenanigans until it's time to go.
(Oh, and of course all prayers, good thoughts, well wishes, love, and positive vibes are always appreciated.)
