Please Explain

Conservative Christians claim that "Merry Christmas" should not be offensive to anybody at all ever. It is a harmless, well-intentioned seasonal greeting. And, anyone who has a problem with it is obviously insecure in their own faith, otherwise they'd just take it in the goodwill it was intended and move on ( Read more... )

It doesn't. It's conservative Christians. Everything is fuel to their agenda. (On the other hand, I'm delighted when people wish me a happy Hannukuh or Kwanzaa!)

I don't get offended if someone wishes me "Merry Christmas." However, if I go into a public place of business and see "Merry Christmas" plastered over everything, it does make me think "OK, you serve people of all faiths here. This is inconsiderate and unprofessional looking" and I believe that "Happy Holidays" is more inclusive and more appropriate in that setting.

I guess that makes me the grinch or something.

When people get all up in my grill with that stuff, I just grin and say, "Happy Kwanzaa!" I'm THE whitest white girl you'll ever meet. Seriously, I look like I should glow in the dark. My everyday foundation? Is 00. (For reference, a 1 is the fairest most brands carry.)

The looks on people's faces are priceless. :)
