I just finished doing yoga for the first time in my life! And mama, I feel LIMBER. Limber, stretched, bendy, relaxed, and just lovely. Wow. I never realized just how great my body would feel after something like that.
I'm aiming to do some sort of yoga routine at least twice a week (preferably for about an hour/hour and a half each time). Along with that, I have been talking with my aunt (the personal trainer) about a fitness schedule/routine. It goes something like this: with the yoga twice a week, I have a short series of ab exercises I'm supposed to do every single night, and then I go to the gym three times a week, where I do a half hour of cardio each time (switching it up between elliptical, rowing machine and bike each time), and then on Day 1 I have a series of chest/back exercises, on Day 2 a series of lower body exercises, and on Day 3 I do shoulders and arms. For each day, she's given me specific exercises to do/machines to use, and certain amounts of sets at certain weight intervals.
Now that I have this plan set-up, I think (I HOPE!) it will be easier for me to get the motivation to work out. I'm the kind of person who loves following a plan when it comes to something like this, because my mind is just so allover the place all the time, so I'm going to try my hardest to follow this. It was harder for me to get motivation to work out when I didn't have a specific routine laid out for me, because I started feeling like maybe I didn't really know what I was doing and therefore I psyched myself out of achieving results.
In addition all of this, I've unconsciously been slipping into a better eating regime. Lately I haven't wanted to eat any kind of fast food, I'm not always thinking about eating while I'm at work (like I tend to do), and I've been eating less (sometimes even forgetting to eat). I'm finding that slipping into these weird habits is making it easier for me to make myself eat healthier, because my cravings have been slim to none. So for example, when I go to the grocery store in the middle of the day to pick up something for lunch (which in itself is MUCH better than choosing from the gross over-abundance of fast food surrounding my store), since I usually don't have many cravings anymore, it's easier for me to choose cottage cheese and fruit, or a low-fat sandwich, rather than some fattening frozen entree, or Zoodles. haha. Know what I mean?
I just hope this keeps up.
I picked up my iron today at the drugstore, so hopefully that starts to help me with the whole anaemia/no energy deal. I also grabbed a new, different brand of St. John's Wort that has 200 more milligrams in each capsule (400mg per capsule, rather than the ones I'm on now which only have 200mg per capsule), which I'm hoping makes a difference.
Anyway, now that you're all bored... I'm going to bed! :)
ps. I spent like an hour earlier tonight just looking at constellations on Google Sky. Man that stuff is beautiful. It's amazing how you can see star clusters and remains of star explosions/formations and stuff... if I had the patience for school and was a million times smarter in a scientific way, I'd probably become an astronomer or an astro-physicist... sigh.
