First night working bar: complete.
All in all, pretty decent. Wasn't a super crazy busy night but it wasn't slow either. I felt like a fool at first, as I always do when I'm learning things... I hate feeling like a burden, but I think I actually picked shit up pretty quick, and the times when I didn't have much to do I still tried to make myself useful. I'm getting really good at pouring pints with barely any head! And I made good money tonight, hoo-ah!
So yeah! Feet are killing me, but it's really nice to be able to stand up and walk around at work and be on my feet constantly... call me weird but I HATE jobs where I just sit! UGH. It's the worst. At the Stag Shop I basically was on my feet all day long and I loved it (although I definitely did have to take sit breaks, don't get me wrong).
Also, I think my work is totally haunted... The building is from the late nineteenth century. And our basement is sooo creepy and not renovated at all. I had to keep going down there to grab cases of beer and I was majorly spooked! Oh and there is this crappy little old, stained day calendar hanging on the wall next to the freezer room that was stuck on Friday, August 13th, EEP! Haha. I was waiting for Kathy to finish closing stuff up in the back room, so I'm sitting at the bar by myself, the place is all dark except for the bar area, and I SWORE I saw a shadow walk by me. But maybe I've just been watching too much Ghost Hunters :p
Got home around three, ate some leftover noodles that were in the fridge, checked my internetty things and watched an episode of Peep Show.
And whaddaya know, I think I'm gonna get to bed before 5 am tonight. Ha.
