And they were the same...You see, normally within the first or second episode, I can call the winner and the last four times or so, I have been Right!! Though I LOOOOVED Pandora Boxx, Raven, and Ivy Winters (Two of which won Miss Congeniality and the other was runner up on her own season AND on the 'All-Star' Season).
But From the FIRST MOMENT I saw Raja, I said "She's gonna Win. She is doing ANDROGYNOUS drag and she was FLAW-LESS."
And 14 or so bitches went home and RaJa won!!
AND ALL WAS WELL IN MY WORLD....For awhile....
Next Season... The MOMENT Sharon Needles walked through the door, first episode, again, I called it.
I looked at Ro and said "She may not win, but she should!! She's doing beauty-goth drag and she is FIERCE!!"
AND SHARON WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND ALL WAS RIGHT IN MY WORLD AND THE WORLD OF DRAG...Well....KINDA... You see, although Sharon was bringing a Dark-wave Drag like my 'girlfriends' at the clubs used to, something was nagging me.. There was another competitor that season named Chad Michaels. And she was polished, graceful, refined, diplomatic, funny, kind an very classy. I liked her....Alot. But there could only be one winner, right. And that was Sharon. So I just thought about how close Chad got and how much work she would get from all that exposure. But then RuPaul did something never done before!! Ru (different from 'Ro') did an ALL-STAR Season where all the fan favourites and second place winners would go against a dozen or so other bitches to be crowned in the 'All-Star' season!! And Raven and Pandora were there....
...but so was Chad!!! Chad just HAD to win this time! It had been nagging at me since my fave, Sharon Needles won.
AND CHAD WON!!! AND WAS CROWNED WINNER OF RUPAUL'S ALL-STAR SEASON!!!!!
AND ALL WAS RIGHT WITH THE WORLD....Until this season...
You see, This Season, We had Miles...
The love of my life (okay, the love of OUR life), my best friend (okay, Ro and my best friend) my little bundle of puppy-power, and my fellow Rupaul's Drag Race fan.
So we start to watch this Season together and ironically, Sharon Needle's Boyfriend was there, Alaska Thunderfuck (referred to on the show as just Alaska for obvious reasons.) At first, Miles and I wanted Alaska to win BECAUSE she was with Sharon and weird and spooky just like her.
So Miles....
Wanted ALASKA.....
....to Win the 100,000 dollars in prize money, trips, headliner tour, make-up, gowns, crowns, etc because we so loved ALASKA'S life partner and previous winner SHARON NEEDLES:
Keeping up so far?!? GOOD.
So what is this?!? Something was -off- in gay-land and a Dark Horse (ha ha) was starting to trump Alaska in my affections. Jinkx Monsoon. By episode 3 or so, I thought Ivy was beautiful, and still loved Alaska, but my heart was won over my Jinkx. She was pretty, kooky, funny, serious, multi-faceted, vulnerable, sweet, and knew her gay herstory backward and forward. She KNEW how far gay men, especially Drag Queens came and she never forgot it. She was humble, attractive, and always tender-hearted. I started to root for Jinkx Monsoon.
I was afraid to tell Miles that I had become a part of...
Because Miles' reaction to my "Alaskian Betrayal" would NOT have gone over well.... I could just picture it in my mind!!!!
"WHAT?!?! YOU DON'T WANT TO RAH RAH RAH FOR ALASKA ANYMORE WITH ME MOMMIE?!?!?!"
So I kept it from him until the very end..... So he was sad when Alaska Thunderfuck lost...
But he cheered up when I explained that Alaska and Sharon shared more than wigs and dresses. They shared property, cars, and money. They were a domestic couple and engaged to marry. So everything Sharon got, Alaska got too. Plus, Alaska got so much exposure from the show that her career will take off and she will never have to look for work again!! That cheered Miles up a lot.
And I still got to watch JINKX WIN HER MUCH DESERVED CROWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And all was right with the world....until next season..... ;)
