On Friday, Kitten and I nosed around Nordstrom's fragrance wall and scored some samples. Prada's Infusion d'Iris is making the best sort of stink around my left wrist right now. I don't know enough about iris root to talk about the odor but I have heard that it is smells green and powdery. It definitely does that but I didn't realize how much it smelled like violets. I have the biggest weakness for violet notes, and I'm also detecting neroli, frankincense, and delicious woody stuff. There's something very retro about it all.
Yes, I realize that perfume's probably the most frivolous purchase I could possibly make at this point in time. Excepting, perhaps, meth. Considering the way my wrist has been practically glued to my nose all evening, I'm guessing that most lookers-on assumed that I was indulging in a bit of that trashy fairy dust SO IT IS JUST AS WELL, HEY?
