I've decided I'm going to make an effort to post in my LJ at least once a week, with a goal of twice a week!

I slept through my alarm this morning. Actually, I turned off my alarm and went back to sleep. What happened is that my alarm clock radio is apparently not set to NPR, but to a crazy republican station. :( I usually don't actually listen to my radio in the morning, but I would rather have people quietly talking about something than the alarm going BEEEP BEEP BEEP!!!! and severely freaking me out. Of course I only have a cheap radio alarm clock, so you have to scroll the little red bar and estimate what station you are on. Apparently I estimated wrong and instead of being 88.5 WAMU NPR (it's broadcast at Justin's school), it's something crazy. The first two times I hit snooze this morning, I thought, "Oh, some crazies have called to discuss the passing of the Healthcare Reform, I guess everyone does deserve the chance to voice their opinions"

But around a quarter to 8 a lady called and said, "....then I got really sick and had no choice but to use Medicaid, and I hate it because I hate knowing I'm a free-loader, and BLAH BLAH BLAH" OMG, I have no comprehension at all why people on medicaid are "free-loaders" and I cannot fathom why a lady who was down on her luck would hold a safety-net with such contempt. And half asleep I got angry and shut off my alarm and thought to myself I'll get up in a couple minutes. Which I usually do without issue. But instead I had some crazy dreams and it wasn't until I was rolling around to get in a more comfortable position did I realize it was a quarter to nine.

So I got ready as fast as I could and made Justin get up fast too, and had reasonable luck with 2 trains and a bus and got to work by 10:30 am. Yay! No joke, the other day it took me 2 hours and 35 minutes to get home. I was really upset.

My favorite part of my dream this morning was going to the Playscape Museum. It was an indoor museum filled with all different types of playground setups. They had the large wooden castles, and the plastic types, and Rocket Ship from Rotary park, and tons of things. And everyone could play on them! I was really excited about it. They even had those weird swings that used to be at the park next to the YMCA in Livonia. They were like 8 foot tall cowboy stick-figures that were holding up the monkey bars, and the swings that you used by pushing and pulling with your arms. Anyways, the museum was really amazing, and I would pay to take my kids there in real life.
