Not Dead!

Hey everyone!

I don't ever post to LJ anymore, and I think it has to do with my lack of time. Currently my priorities are doing work, and finishing my deadlines. You wouldn't believe how many items are on my A and B list! Yikes! Outside of work I am currently revamping my resume. I've read 2 books on the subject and have done a lot of brainstorming. I'm hoping to begin posting on Monster.com (and begin really job-hunting) Sunday evening. I'm a long-ways from being there, and I promised myself I didn't have to work on it during my commute today. After that I want to actually do fun things. And after even that comes blogging about my life - unless I'm way upset over something. Ooops.

I'm actually doing okay right now. I've sent off my second e-blast at work, and I'm proud of all the skills I've picked up from this job. If my current position paid anything I would continue working after the contract ends in June. But I need money. Justin hasn't even heard back from a single company he's applied to, and I'm wondering if he has already given up job-hunting. He's never job-hunted in his life before, and he kinda thought that graduating from American University would lead to a fast job. His professors are helping him out though, so he does important stuff at school on a part-time basis, and gets paid for it.

My oldest brother, Jeff, is in the hospital. Apparently Thursday night he was having gastro-intestional pressure (gas) and passed out on the toilet. Apparently that happens fairly often. And he must have hit his head on the way down, because Megan found him unconscious with a lump on his head. He was taken by ambulance to Garden City Hospital around 3am, and is still there today. What worried the doctors is that he was passed-out for too long for it to just have been sitting on the toilet, and that he has scarring on his heart. How do you get scarring on your heart? I really don't know and google failed to produce relevant information. Anyway, the doctors asked if they could do an explorative surgery to check out his heart, and Megan and Jeff both okayed it, so that surgery happened earlier today. The results came back negative for anything interesting, so he will be sent home this evening, and go to work on Wednesday. The anesthesia takes awhile to wear off, so Jeff isn't allowed to drive to work tomorrow. So, all in all, weird stuff and apparently not a big deal. My mom wonders if the scarring on his heart could be a result of him having Measels when he was 12. She said that a bunch of kids were given a bad vaccine, and they all got the measels around that time.

I don't know anything about the measels or anything else. I don't remember him having the measels, because quick math says I would have been 3 or 4 years old when he had it.

In a more happy note, Justin and I had our first guest since we moved to AAFB. Steve (yes, I still have confused feelings about whether or not I like him) flew down last Saturday. I still worked this week, so I saw him for maybe an hour on the weekdays. On Thursday I took a day off of work and the three of us drove to Ocean City MD to wade in the Atlantic Ocean. It was way too cold for that. I'm still sunburned. Steve flew back to MI on Saturday, and I think he had a good time.

Justin and I will be in MI for Easter, and our flights are 3/31 - 4/6.

I wish everyone well and hope your lives get a lot less complicated soon!
