GARRRRRRRR!
Boy does school suck. Why am I doing so poorly? I've never struggled this much in my life. Jeez. AP Physics is bearable, AP Gov is bearable, and AP Calc is bearable -- then WHY THE HELL AM I HAVING SO MANY PROBLEMS? It stacks up way too much! I got a freakin' 80 on a gov test? What the fucking hell? Considering my "normal" grades for the past 12 years, what is going on? Everyone says to take a deep breath and relax, but how? If I take one deep breath, I'll drown. At least that's how I feel. Add on top of difficult classes my class president duties, and you get one tired-out bastard. Seriously, I've had to wake up at 6:30 AM or earlier for the past few days JUST TO FINISH HOMEWORK. Something's wrong here.
*Sighs* My grades are slipping, just in time for college apps. It's gonna take some serious work to dig out of this pit.
Speaking of college apps, I've pretty much narrowed down my college choices.
1. University of California, San Diego (UCSD)
2. UCSB (Santa Barbara)
3. Stanford
4. UPenn
5. Yale
6. Caltech
7. MIT (Mass. Institute of Technology)
8. UC Berkeley
INTERNSHIP! Bio-rad (a bio-equipment company) has an internship available next summer. The question is: do I really want to spend my entire summer there? I'll have to skim the package I got from them, then decide on that later. But the opportunity seems like a once-in-a-high-school-lifetime opportunity. I'm not sure I want to pass it up.
The one thing that has kept me from exploding these past two weeks is: Noir. The anime series was great (in my top 3, after Witch Hunter Robin and before Evangelion). I saw the fansubs (excluding a corrupted episode 17), and I was blown away. The character development was top-notch and the storyline was just...awesome. And the fanfiction section at FF.net has not been overrun by fangirls! (Maybe because the bishounen are missing...XD)...Anyways, I found a good deal, so I bought the dub DVDs (All 7), and the imported OSTs (all 3). The OSTs arrived, but the DVDs might take a while. Anyways, watch Noir. NOIR PWNS YOU, FOO. WATCH IT. NOW.
About my class stuff. I need to delegate. Really. I end up doing the timesheets, the money counting, and all that crap. I need to ask Alwin and Jesse to help out more. It's not because they're not doing their part, but because I'm not giving them anything to do. Sorry guys, I'll work on that. Now about our apathetic class...
I'm sick and tired of this scenario. I send out an email to 50+ classmates. I get 6 bounced emails and 1-2 responses. For example, for the CANCELLED flea market last week (because there were not enough responses for me to really do anything with it), I had a total of 8-10 responses.
"But can't you run a flea market with eight people? That should be easy."
Not exactly. Of those eight responses, six were from people who said they couldn't come. That's not the problem. They told me, they gave valid reasons why. If they had even said "I don't wanna go because I want to sleep in." I would have no problem. The problem is that the other 45+ people DON'T RESPOND! Have the maturity, responsibility, and respect to at least tell me that you can't make it to the events I'm setting up. I'll make the opportunity, but you can't blame me for not fulfilling my goals when you don't even take that opportunity. I want to raise $2000 for our class. That has not changed. It doesn't matter if half the class decides it ain't worth it because they're not going on the Senior Trip. That's their choice. But I can't make that money alone.
I wanna go to AX. Seriously. Cosplaying, maybe...
AX is an Anime Expo held in Anaheim every June. It's the biggest anime convention in California. If I went, I might not cosplay, but it would still be sweet. I'm hoping that I can get a group of people (along with permission from the parents) to go down, but we'll deal with that later. Details will be forthcoming.
Jeopardy! still hasn't sent anything. I know it's not till November, but...I'm getting impatiend. I also got my ACT scores (from February) back (finally). Apparently they sent them to my school or something. Whatever. Still two more SATs before I'm done for good. First, a SAT-1 on October 9th (Right before my birthday...XP), and a SAT-2 Math 2C in December.
