OK, the nokomis Highschool Jazz Band is inFUCKINGcredible. they are just wow wow wow. as allison would say, "they are fab"
So the news from yesterday is that we kinda sucked, not as bad as we could have but i dont think it was our best performance ever. My guess is that we were all just wicked nervous which made everyone just not rock out with their cocks out. i dropped one of my sticks during my intro solo on invitation, but no one really noticed thanks to benzo who saved me. i owe him alot. he really saved the performance. youre a great man, ben. otherwise we didnt blow it, but it wasnt the best weve played. at least we tried. im proud of us for trying. good job kids.
the thing that really did piss me off was that after our nerve-racking performance, half the band made the effort to go see other groups play and experience some incredible musicianship. the other half (and the numbers were nearly perfectly half) sat in our homeroom and played cards and talked to their boyfriend (RACHEL). and they had the guts to complain that they were bored afterward, when rollins asked us if we wanted to stay and watch the finals or go home. wow im so sick of it being the rachel show all the damn time. she needs someone to show her that shes not the fucking center of the universe. just because shes attractive and acts sweet and cute doesnt mean that she gets to have everything handed to herwhen she tilts her head and begs nicely.
i saw as many bands as i could yesterday and some of them were great like Waterville and Cape Elizabeth. The tenor player from waterville was rippin. just rockin. Cassie was really good in OOB. bueno job sweetie. Cheverus sucked. i just didnt like them at all. and i wasnt a big fan of South Portland either. their ballad wasnt great and it was kinda annoying. But the finals were rediculously great. Again, nokomis was fuckin spectacular. the band before them was great too and the band after nokomis was pretty good as well.
i was so goddamn impressed with nokomis. they were so professional. they didnt stand still and just read the music, they knew it hardcore and swung like mad. there was this one trombone player girl (who was really really cute) who was playing her horn like if she played it hard enough, shed wake up the devil. she was insane. and really attractive. they had a rich golden tight brass sound. unlike us where we have a somewhat good sound. dan tries, but we arent that calibur. the funny thing was that when we got to nokomis highschool i noticed that they had their cds on sale at the counter. i thought “wow these kids are assholes thinking that they are already better than everyone". i was wrong. i want one now. great job guys.
i also noticed that they had won a shitload of competitions of the state festival and the Berklee High School Jazz Fest. Thats a national competition. and they had won a few of em. fuckin wow man. they just wow
i dont remember the last night that i posted, and i cant check now cause im not actually online right now. im typing this post on appleworks and am going to post it in the morning when i get the internet back because my dad is a nazi bastard. 2 things will make me happy with him: he either dies, or i move away.
speaking of getting away, my car is busted again. it seems that morgans car did somehting to mine and now it wont start. and its not the battery because we changed the battery and they lights work. its just that it wont turn over. thanks morgan, im going to kill you or sleep with pheobe now. so this means that im gonna have to school ON THE BUS! thats the last thing i want to do. i HATE THE BUS! and the funny thing is that i have ridden it more in the past week than i have this entire year. i hope my starter will either just drain of the water that im betting is clogging it because off all the rain this week, or gets fixed before saturday when i have to take the boy, graham, carey, and catie watt (hottie) to RBF MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!! WOOOOOOO
and on that note of rbf, im stoked to go to boston on tuesday for the battle, because im gonna buy the new rbf disc there, since it comes out on tuesday. what luck.
