Fire Update
I just typed out a post and as I sent it, we lost internet and it went out into cyberspace never to to be seen again, so here's a briefer one (I can hear the sighs of relief! lol)
Fire still active, winds still up and things could turn nasty at any time, but, for now, I'm enjoying a much needed respite from imminent threat.
I had my first proper(ish) sleep since 15.10.13 last night, and boy, did I need it!
The air quality is fantastic compared to what it's been so that's a plus too.
Apart from ember checks and keeping up with what the firefront is doing, I'm planning on getting most of my mind on other things and doing normal stuff today. I have loads to do in the housework stakes because most of the work has been outdoors re hazard reduction, but luckily I'm not anal about that sort of thing and while I may do a bit, I'm planning a 'me' day - I think I deserve it.
I've put myself officially off duty for the day... or next few hours... whatever.
I may even get some reading in or watch a movie - haven't had the head space for either over the last several days.
I have the strange urge to make myself an enormous lemon meringue pie and eat the lot to myself while lazing around.
Actually, that sounds like a plan!
