Yes, I've caved and done it again - I've entered the current
lj_scribe prompt #31. The prompt was There's no such thing as vampires, right? A poem popped into my head, so I thought - why not?
It's a darkly humorous (or supposed to be) poem called Bedtime. If you like it, it would be great if you could pop over
http://lj-scribe.livejournal.com/275077.html and give me a +1, but no pressure my dears!
Bedtime
Snuggle down my little one
It's time to go to bed
You've had a busy day my dear
So rest your weary head
Yes, I will check your wardrobe
And look under your bed
But there's no such thing as vampires, right?
Remember what I've said?
Neither are there werewolves
Who'll flay you of your skin
With teeth as sharp as razors
In their feral canine grins
Nor zombies that will eat your brains
And leave you dead and bleeding
Till you waken as a zombie too
And it's brains that you'll be needing
Mr Hyde's not real my dear
So he can't come along
And rip out your still beating heart
As he sings a merry song
Ghouls are fictional my dear
The stuff of fairytales
They won't suck the jelly from your eyes
They've gouged out with their nails
And evil spirits, wailing
Won't dance around your bed
And suck the life from out of you
With their eyes of fiery red
Demons are not real my love
They will not stand and gloat
As they watch your life's blood flowing
From your torn and pulsing throat
So rest your head my darling
Here's a kiss, I'll dim the light
Go to sleep my little one
Pleasant dreams... Good night!
Thanks my lovles! Hope you liked it.
