I'm very much loving this knitting thing :D

While at coffee and tea with
dreamingcrow she was showing me some photos of some of the projects she had finished. She brought up cabling and I instantly rolled my eyes in skill coveting. I expressed that I have always loved the cable work with knitting but it was too confusing to me.

She said it was actually quite easy and after looking at my hat and talking a little bit about how I knit from behind as opposed to knitting from the front to back she pointed out how that creates the slight leaning effect my knitting has. It's not bad or wrong and some use it as a design feature (which is what I like to call my oops LOL) but for some patterns that could be a problem. She showed me how to knit from the front. Which phyrebright had done before but it just never stuck.

I think this time it will *smile* I noticed about myself that once I have one thing down it's easier for me to change it. After finishing several hats and scarves I feel much more comfortable with my knitting and things that were confusing before suddenly click. Like the concept of cable knitting.

She showed me how to to do a simple cable stitch. I couldn't do it right now this second but with a video tutorial just seeing it again it would click. I know because it clicked right there. The way it worked out in my head was "OOOOH! It's like one step forward two steps back...but with the knitting needles! I GET IT!" *laughs at self* So I'm thinking I want to try some cable knitting - super simple and when I finally pick a pair of socks to knit I think i will start with it there. Socks are just repetative long tubes of knitting fun. I need to learn to knit those so I might as well learn a bit of cable knitting along with that. *smile*

I'm working on an olive scarf right now. I will be starting Anna's Purple Shiny Scarf when I get back to the apartment and my Mom wants a hat but she wants to pick her own yarn :)

I've got a bunch more pics that I need to upload to my Ravelry page and I'm looking forward to that. I've misplaced a set of 13 circulars that I had...once I clear through my room I'm sure they will turn up.

I've got these projects going on and I can't wait to start more - I'm so laughing about it - I love teh knitting :D

What I need to do now is to sew up some wraps to keep my knitting needles in. I need a knitting bag BAD. I have a couple of different bags...but I need one for JUST my knitting. I'm thinking something vinyl - something that will do well in the wet weather...because I will still be going out to the coffee shops to knit and the rain won't keep this kitty in! :D

Need more long socks too. I need to knit myself some gloves. Socks and gloves. Must learn to knit them soon :)

My fingers are itching to start a blue scarf and the knitting needles and yarn are in my drawer. I'm waiting though - there's a scarf I can work on at Seans and I will save the needles for working on Anna's scarf when I get home. I'm still squeein over finishing Seans hat. I'm so proud of it!

I've decided to not totally flood everywhere with knitting pics though not having proper access to Ravelry this past week has been driving me nuts. Work wont let me see it on the computer and I can only partially see it on my BB - cant upload pics via the BB and there isn't an app for BB yet for the ravelry site. *sigh* Anyways...I will try to keep all my pics on the ravelry page though I'm sure I will post a few here and there on FB as I have a squee moment. I think I squees a bit much the last two days. I was just so excited to be in the home stretch after starting and restarting that hat so many time. I thought I'd be done with the whole hat thing but...I WANT TO KNIT MORE! LOL

OK I'm in a knitting mood enough with meh!
XOXO Miss Kitty
