Um, plot...can you stop killing people off? ._____. I kind of need people, you know? It's nice you're ramping stuff up and making sure Ras knows the seriousness of the situation, but what's the point if everyone's dead by the end of the novel? Or is that the point? D: I don't want a completely hopeless situation! I wanted that person to survive! So they could do something later! Gah!

Maybe I should stop doing 'what if-?' at lulls, because apparently the plot defaults to 'Someone dies!'. *wry*

Okay! The person hasn't died! \o/

*wonders if the insta!trust/casual touching is a little fast but hmmmmm, considering what's just happened over the last...two days, naaaaah* *keeps it in*

You know, I kiiiiinda want to slot previousversion!Marland's draconic instincts into Aldran. XD;;; He has a twitchy cat-tail! I want to see it go 'flick flick flick' as Aldran spots something shiny to pounce on! Except that jars on the serious tone of the novel. Aw. But then, maybe he can control it better, so it shows up later on, when he's not thinking about stuff so much? :D

Hm. Dilemma. Now that *spoiler* has sort of been worked out, do I do a mild time skip (which probably isn't long enough, now that I think about it) or do I continue with staying with them day-to-day? If this was a fanfic, I'd probably do tiny snippets of them together as they learn more about each other/the job, but this isn't, and since a week or two is a big time-skip when we're talking about Aldran growing out of...zer awkwardness (small things can be a big deal to zer)...

I guess that answers my question. :P

I currently have 1.5k of plot written, and I think this would amount to...7-8k of actual words, if I'm being generous. D: Lots and lots of words!

[I'm trying out ze(he), zer(his), and zer(him). :3] [Hm. I might try using zes or zers for his.]

*dry laugh* So, in an attempt to make sure there aren't that many quiet scenes, that means I'm going back there's too little khertan/too many geists and Ras and Aldran get called out while they're still recovering. Because everyone else is too injured/worn out that the utter newbies have to cover for them. :P Poor them.

And guess what? I'm not even at my first proper plot point yet. *facepalm*

I'm a little nervous how I'm putting it as [days pass] because this is really early, while they're learning about each other; I just hope they don't make the entire story veer off in another direction.

Of course they're feeling like strangers. :P Isn't that how it's always going to be I'm writing? Especially since they've been ~chosen by the Gods~

Also, up at half-three. woo. =/

It is apparently 7C right now. This is cold enough. D:

*snerk* New ficlet. Aldran, please stop overtaking my brain - I'm supposed to be getting into Ras' brain. *sigh* At least I was able to write 500 words of plot today! ...It still hasn't gotten very far. *facepalm*

Set right before the start of the novel. Apart from the fact that Ras is supposed to have kicked zer out of the room but anyway. I guess I'm not really going to be introducing Ras and Aldran in the novel at this rate... XD;;

Vigil
Aldran watches Ras.

Aldran's arms were curled loosely around his bent knees, the tip of his tail waving left and right as he watched Ras sleep.

He…hadn't been able to do anything.

He buried his head further into his arms, guilt wrenching him. Even though the priests had healed Ras to the point of leaving no evidence of what had happened, Aldran knew where she had been hurt. A bruise on her arm. A scrape along her jaw. Blood across her temple.

He was supposed to help her, help her fight against the geists! That was the entire reason why he was here! But instead it was the opposite.

It was his fault. If it wasn't for him, she wouldn't be like this; she wouldn't be hurt.

Taking an unsteady breath, Aldran tightened his arms around his knees. He didn't want to see Ras like this again but, somewhere around his gut, he knew he would.

And there was nothing he could do about it.

If anyone wants to throw me any prompts to try and get Ras to talk to me, feel free! :3
