I've started back on Searching! \o/ Only six-hundred words done so far, but it's better than nothing (and one of my New Year's Resolution was to write at least five-hundred words a day. I've been failing in that already, but I had those monstrous posts to make. Also, it's a sort of five-hundred words a day/3,500 words a week kinda thing. My other NYR is to get a job. Wonder how that's going to go).
So, yes, six-hundred words in, I don't think I've lost characterisation, though I think this scene is different from how I'd originally intended it. And I'm already enjoying Nillos. XDD Which is a good thing, because I pretty much have nothing on his character; all I know is that he's the 'comic relief' character to balance off all the seriousness so I'm making stuff up as I go along.
I'm... kind of lamenting the fact that I now roll over in bed and fall asleep again when I wake up instead of getting up at four/five like I used to. XD;; I might try getting back into that habit.
Also, those previous OC questions made me realise that Marland could be really young compared to his own species. Like, early teenager-young. Because I haven't thought about how long his own species live for and how long it takes for them to develop. It would explain why he doesn't remember that much of anything in his previous life when he came through when he was about seven (Wendil guessed on his height and how he acted) and since he's really tall compared to humans... yeah. So it could be that Marland's also the way that he is because he had to grow up really fast compared to how long he could have been allowed to back home alongside the whole 'fighting Others' thing. Hmm. Interesting.
Wait. That might mean Marland could get even taller. O____O;;
