I am seriously loving what I've read of Forests of the Night so far. Genetic meddling to create non-human soldiers! Human experimentations! Nohar unable to stop his instinct to scratch trees straight away! EEeeeee! And Nohar's poor tail gets some abuse anyway. XDD It's always falling asleep.
Loved this exchange and literally laughed out loud:

The question seemed to break [Stephie] out of her shock. She lifted her gaze. "I want to know what happened to Phil. I was waiting down there two hours until Detective Harsk - Christ, what are you doing with no clothes on?"
That damned pink fetish. "Avoiding bureaucracy."
"What the hell are you talking about? You're naked!"
"Not until they shave me."

The context is Nohar's just woken up in hospital and he really needs to leave to feed his pet cat. ♥ I haven't mentioned that Nohar is an eight-foot tall bipedal tiger working as a P.I in Cleveland, have I? :DD
