I e-mailed my tutor for Creative Writing I with my first hand-in thing. I just have to wait a week now for her to send it back through the post. I'm just hoping that I won't end up with something like
this when I do. XD The next thing I hand in is gonna be something that'll eventually be marked by an external examiner. Yay. D: I'm s'posed to do something like write an emotional scene. Can't remember at the moment. ^ ^;
I had my Psychology of Language and Thinking lecture on Monday. I'll just copy and paste what I'd sent to my beta-reader: I haven't thought about the syntax (since I don't know what order each word goes in English and Japanese) and lovely double meanings for stuff and context and grammar and the fact that grammatically, not a lot of our spoken language makes sense unless you have a cultural and general knowledge about the world. And slang. DD: I knew some of this but... Augh! So much more difficult than I thought it was. And then there's the words that don't have a double-meaning in Japanese but do in English.
My head...
Writing Fullmetal Ninja has gotten a lot more difficult. My happy thoughts consist of how, since Ed and Al are learning a second language and not a first one, this'll be easier for them. I really really hope. D:
The coursework for this is for the seventh week and we're not gonna be taught about it until the third week. Hmm. I'm thinking about just doing research right now to get it started and then correct my mistakes when the lecture comes around. It's pretty short since it's 1,500 words (which I find amusing because last year this was standard but after the last two semesters, it's tiny) and I only need three references. Wtf? I'm probably going to end up with seven or something by the end of it. Well, we'll see. I'd have other things to hand in during that week and the next so yeah, I'll just get started on it.
My lecture for Animal Behaviour was straight after this. The first lecture was on the top (sixth floor) while the second was in the basement. Yeah, there's two small lifts which everyone else'll get before us. Ah well, it wasn't as bas as I thought it'd be. Was able to buy two bags of crisps on the way down.
It was interesting, even though I knew most of it - apart from the fact that if a lioness hasn't gotten pregnant after a certain period of time, she'll go into heat and then can have sex every fifteen minutes with the males in the pride for up to two to four days. O___o Wow.
The textbook looks really dry though.
In Research Psychology, it doesn't look like there's any groupwork! :D Yes!
Altogether, the price of the books that I need to get is about £110/$214. Fun.
:3 I've started to write the outline for what should happen in Fullmetal Ninja. Apparently the next chapter takes up a page but who knows where I'll be cutting it off at. ^ ^;
I went and realised that in the fifth chapter, the 'hi', 'hi', 'hi?', 'uh, hi', 'bye?', 'no, hi' thing wouldn't work as well as I thought it would because they use different words in Japanese and they don't sound alike. But there's waving so that makes things confusing. XD
