Pomp and Circumstance (and Coffee Ice Cream Cake)

As of Friday evening, I have officially graduated from high school, with a diploma and everything. I don't think it's really sunk in yet. I think I was more sentimental last year when all my friends graduated than this year when it was finally my turn. The ceremony was a bit surreal, like it hadn't really hit me what a big deal it was, and the hats were kind of awful. The robes were a bit wrinkled and made everyone look like nuns or choir singers or something. My dad videotaped most of it and when he caught up with me afterward, he started taking pictures of me with everyone I happened to stand near for a few seconds. I wandered around, chatted with people, started to get blisters from my shoes, and finally went home to enjoy delicious cake and presents with my family and grandparents. Highlights of my presents include a Kindle (which I expected I was going to get since I told my grandma exactly which model I wanted and basically placed an order, but which is still extremely cool and omg I've read so much already this summer),a hundred dollar bill (it was so exciting to see one in person), and mini figures of a VW Bug (since I don't have my own car) and a golden retriever (since I'll be going off to school and not able to see our family dog, a golden retriever, for a few months). I wish it had been warmer at graduation, though, so I wouldn't have had to borrow a cardigan from my mom to wear over my dress. It's been unseasonably cool for the end of May, and apparently they got snow in Tahoe on Sunday.

In addition to now being a high school graduate, I'm now into rehearsals already for the summer show at Olde Coloma Theatre. It's so exciting to be a villain this time! I'm supposed to be very snake-like, apparently. Since the setting of the show is a sideshow, my co-villain and I are going to be Siamese twins. They're tying us back to back, which makes moving around quite interesting. This has not made my summer very relaxing, as I've been actually quite busy with aforementioned rehearsals and other things. Yesterday, I spent most of the day in the car with my sister and her friend driving up to and back from my grandma's house because we wanted to go to their county fair. We barely saw our grandparents and our cousin didn't even come with us, but the fair was very fun and they washed our clothes for us while we were gone. It was sort of like practice for Disneyland.

Tomorrow, I'm going to wake up at six in the morning and ride in the car for seven hours down to Disneyland. I'M SUPER EXCITED.
