OH HAI IT'S AN UPDATE

Well, there goes my goal of trying to update at least once a week. Oh well. I've been ridiculously busy lately. Last week was the final week for my college classes and I had to study for my criminal law exam. I thought it was going to be comprehensive, so I spent all weekend studying the entire semester's worth of notes, but apparently the multiple choice portion was just on the last four chapters and I had massively over-studied. I was like FML, but at least I got an A in the class (and my Shakespeare class, which is EXCITING because the teacher was a super tough grader and I wasn't sure how I was going to do). Eight classes at the junior college, and I still have a 4.0 (which is actually higher than my high school GPA because math classes suck and I got two Bs- ISN'T 3.97 CLOSE ENOUGH? CAN'T WE JUST ROUND UP?). So yeah, grades are good as the school year ends. I even managed to pass PE despite not actually doing any for most of the year. (The joys of independent study classes!)

Last week was also tech week/performance week for drama. (We did "Pride and Prejudice".) Tech was unusually awful and boring because the horrid Umbridge-like former director kept showing up to act as supervisor/dictator of the class and apparently I did everything wrong with my costume until the final night, at which point I had to take it home and figure out a way to get off the lace hem that for some reason the costume people had added to a rental and which was the cause of all my problems so WHY DID IT EVEN HAVE TO BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE? Plus, there were tons of parent volunteers who all wanted to micro-manage. (And expected all the girls to possess sewing skills- I was like, "Guys, I can't even thread a needle, help me!") But at least the show turned out spectacularly. It was by far the most effort we've ever put into a play and it did pay off in the end. Audience members (some of them former drama students) said that it was possibly the best show the school has ever done. Also, not having a Saturday night show meant that we didn't get as many people as we might have, but that the cast party got to be extra long since people weren't getting tired right away. However, there was some split amongst the class because someone's mom wanted to have a party at her house to celebrate the old director's (the one who came before Umbridge) retirement but not everyone wanted to break the Denny's tradition we have for cast parties. IDK I ended up doing both the organized party and Denny's so it was all fun and cool for me.

And now, of course, I'm getting sucked up into yet another theater thing. I spent most of this week either at auditions or at the first rehearsal. But this one is a melodrama and it's not a school show, so everyone actually CARES and WANTS THE SHOW TO GO WELL and TRIES HARD TO LEARN THEIR LINES and is PRETTY HILARIOUS. I'm sure it will also be stressful in the future, but at the present it seems pretty cool. Also, I get to be one of the villains (they are twins) and the play is set at a freak show, so it's clearly destined to be awesome. Now I have something to do over the summer! I love melodramas.

I don't think the busy-ness will end just yet, either. I'll have plenty of time during the day tomorrow and Saturday, but I'm graduating tomorrow (SO EXCITED) and then on Sunday we're going up to my grandma's for the fair and shortly after down to DISNEYLAND. I CAN'T WAIT. This summer is looking pretty amazing so far.

Sorry for just sort of going on and on and on about everything in my life right now. If you hadn't noticed, I'm in a bit of a rambly and capslocky mood. :P
