Things are... going
What's been going on with my summer? A bit more than last time I posted, I think, but still not much. I went to the local fair on Father's Day, hung out with my sister, cousin (who's staying up at our house for a while), and sister's friend, enjoyed the better roller coaster, and rode the Zipper (a ride that for years has scared me away) and enjoyed it. I've gone swimming several more times because my cousin is obsessed with swimming and wants to go every day since we now have a pool. Yesterday was a lovely day for swimming because it was so hot. Actually, yesterday evening was one of those glorious summer days that are what everyone thinks of when they think of summer. The kids went swimming while the parents (and a grandfather who dropped by for a visit) sat and watched and talked, we had barbequed hamburgers, started planning out 4th of July plans over dinner, then took the dog for a walk afterward and played at the park (and playgrounds) until it started to get dark.
I've also been rediscovering summer obsessions. Last summer everyone was obsessed with the Sims. This year my sister and cousin are obsessed with our Pirates of the Caribbean video game (which my sister actually beat today) while I've been getting into the Sims again, this time with cheat codes so I don't have to worry about money. Oh, and I got somewhat of a summer job babysitting the three-year-old son of my mom's coworker because his daycare closed unexpectedly. My sister and I are planning to take turns with him so neither of us has to get up at 7:30 in the morning (ugh) four days a week. But other than that I've been reading and playing a lot of Facebooks games. I've been meaning to write and practice music more, but never seem to get around to it. Oh well, I'll keep trying I suppose.
