So I turned in the portrait commission and was paid. The funds were already earmarked for a table and chairs set for the back yard. Thanks for all the nice emails about the art (and other stuff).
This week it's back to the word-mines. I'm rusty and stagnant, so it is expected that I will have to write pages and pages before I'm back into routine again. (This should be a lesson for me, that writing muscles atrophy, too.)
Also I've been working in the garden. Newly planted: 12 small fuchsia bushes (they'll grow to 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 ft.) but right now they're around 6 inches high. And the bright-blooming blue spires of Sage. My Sweet Peas are about one foot high and I've tied them (loosely) to the trellis as the first step to training them up the white structure. Oh, and my Dahlias are starting to bud.
On the downside, I've lost 3 Stargazer Lilies to the dogs and the Alabama Power meter-reader guy-----Grrrrrr.
I'm babying the 3 lilies I have left, right now at about 4 inches tall. If anyone is interested in my little gardening adventure, maybe I could post pics.
