What's up is down, what's down is up.

It's that time of year again in retail-land: Inventory. Last year I sat out on the inventory activities, deemed to new to the company to haul off the floor for hours of mindless counting, much to my protests. Why did I want to work ridiculous hours and count thousands of pieces of merchandise? Because I wanted the numbers of my own cosmetic section done correctly. Nonetheless, I was assured that only the best people count the cosmetics (because it takes forever, and there's thousands of tiny pieces) and was told not to worry. Yeah. Well. The day following the end of the inventory, my numbers were off. *boggle*

So this year I signed up for inventory and pretty much demanded to count my own department. The only resistance I got stemmed from the idea of hauling me off the floor for  four days when we have a mess of customers that only shop our department during the days that I'm there. What ever will the other employees do without me? Yeah, well, they'll manage. So tonight starts my first foray into working overnight shifts at BBB.

I didn't take into account the toll the switch-over would take on me. Sleep schedule is already all kinds of screwed up and my stomach is (rightly so) very much confused. Ah well. I'll manage. But I think the suckiest part is the total lack of time with Steve. :( Le sigh. At least I get a break from whiny customers for a few days, and I have Monday off, which actually gives me a two day weekend. For once. Woot.

And now, off to clean the apartment in hopes of wearing myself out enough that I can sneak in a nap before going into work at 9.
