I'm addicted to placebos. I'd give them up, but it wouldn't make any difference.

If you have dangermousie friended I'm sure you've seen her posts on The Myth, and now I have to add my voice because it's GREAT.

It's about a modern guy who falls flat on his face into the Qin dynasty (2000 years ago), and even though I'm sure there will be horrible angst later, right now it's just funny and goofy and perfect. The hero isn't what I'd call dumb -- in fact by ancient standards he's a fucking genius with all his pulleys and levers and generators -- but he's just completely guileless in a way that cracks you up. He defends himself from killer martial artists and apologizes for hurting them ("sorry! sorry! I didn't mean to!"). He walks around a Qin dynasty marketplace TAKING PICTURES WITH HIS CAMERAPHONE.

There are numerous jokes and meta references that no one but the audience understands.

He meets famous historical figures and freaks out, which freaks them out, because they have no idea they live on to become important.

It's like Doctor Who if Mickey was the hero. And Chinese.

(For your own sanity, turn the discussions off.)

EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH THIS SO I'M NOT SQUEEING INTO A VOID MADE ONLY OF ME AND MOUSIE.

pretty people in implausible situations, this can only end in tears, the myth
