The SFWA
announced Harlan Ellison as the next Science Fiction Grand Master. I certainly can't argue with the choice, as I'm a big fan. William F. Nolan was named Author Emeritus, and both will be honored at the Nebula Award Weekend next year.
As a writer and editor, Ellison's impact on SF short fiction has been huge, so this is well deserved. And as Cheryl
says, the thought of Ellison's acceptance speech alone makes one want to attend next year's
Nebula Weekend.
