Ike sucked, but at least I was able to evac to some relatives in Mississippi. The apt suffered no damage and there's even running water. Hot and cold. Due to Centerpoint incompetence or the rules of electrical grid size, the front half of the apartment complex has power and AC. The back half, my apartment included, does not. Luckily, the front half includes the boiler, thus, hot water is available.
My job status is: Limbo. I was temping at Moody National Bank. Unfortunately the main office was/is on Galveston island. And some of the mainland branches I was at, suffered damage (mild flooding) so they aren't open either.
Waiting for electricity is extremely frustrating. I hope they haven't forgotten my section of the apartments. Yes I know it could be worse. But it's not, thankfully.
