The Early Life: Chapter 6

Dec 11, 2009 22:14

It's been a while since I last updated, sorry all, but enjoy the latest chapter of the early lives of three familes, be warned it does contain mature themes, and as a disclaimer, viewer discretion is advised. :)

Liana had good advice, when she gave it. It took a lot to contact her, especially after the twins being born.
She had to leave, go somewhere else. Everything was packed away in boxes. Katharyn had contacted Sterling at work and told him when the rent was due and where the money was.
Sitting in the middle of her bare living room, with her packed belongings, she signed in relief.

She continued to work on her novel. As an inspiring author, she had to practice and treat her novel like a full-time job.
In midst of being deep in thought, the phone rang; breaking her concentration.

Liana looked at the call display and recognized the familiar cell number. The two friends’ conversation consisted of finding the time for a needed visit.

Katharyn and Liana met at a park just outside the apartment complex. “It’s been too long.”
“Yeah, I’ve decided to move on.” Katharyn got to the point, quickly. Confused, Liana questioned her friend.
“You’re-you’ve moved on? What-where?”
“Someplace... Better suited for me.”

The ladies played on the playground for a bit. Thoughts constantly raced through Katharyn’s mind. She hadn’t touched alcohol in a week, but her smoking doubled.

In the tower, she reflected. When was it best to tell Liana . . .
Greg had to leave for work, leaving the two to look after the twins.

“So this is little Ava,” Katharyn cooed, “she looks so much like you.”
“And Logan looks like his dad,” Liana joked, “it’s feeding time though.”

In the kitchen, Katharyn watched Liana’s effortless ease in feeding her baby, she held aver until Logan was done. “You can feed her if you want to.” But Katharyn refused.

As the day turned to evening, Katharyn laid in her new bed and thought about the previous night.

THE PREVIOUS DAY

“You must be Katharyn,” The lady said.

“Yes, and you are?”
“Heather, you’re guiding hand you could call me.”

“Welcome to the treatment center, we wish you all the best; but we do need to check through your belongings for any contraband.” Heather welcomed Katharyn. Once all her belongings were searched, she was shown around the facility and her room.

In her new room, Katharyn was introduced to the resident doctor, who briefed her on some symptoms of withdrawal to be aware of.

He knocked on the door. Briefcase in hand, papers in order. He had been hired for a specific job and he would do his best to make his client’s wishes come true.

“I’ve got the papers all ready for you, you just need to sign here, and here.” The man instructed.
“Thank you, Mr. Willes.” The two men talked the fine details for almost an hour.

When they were done, the men got up, “than you so much again, Mr. Willes, with your help, this court case should be a breeze.”

She was in labour, after nine months it was finally time.

She made her way up the stairs, slowly; the pain of her contractions getting worse each time.

She made her way into the bathroom. It was lonely, quiet; the baby was coming whether she was ready or not.
