Float Downstream [00]

By all rights, Mary should be in the city's hospital, doing her monthly check up instead of looking out at the water front. Especially since that hospital is only a block away from where she is, and she's supposed to be honor an appointment she made.

But...Well...There's the little problem that she'd just taken a dose of the pills, and a bit more then usual. Later, she'll write it off as being nervous about having an examination, but it doesn't change the fact that she can't go there while her head is still buzzing, and that someone could get a chemical reading from her spit alone. (That thought makes her swallow, though. Even if she's in the middle of a high, Mary Keller still does have a bit of dignity. At least, enough to keep from drooling like an idiot.)

So instead of walking down the avenue to where the hospital is, (and trying not to stumble as she goes) Mary instead takes a seat on a nearby bench, and looks out at the canal that cuts through this section of the city. The view is nice, and it's easier to let her mind float for a moment.

Examinations and drug tests can wait, she decides. Not when it's such a nice evening out, and her mind is cheerfully drifting along with the water.
