Title: Alex G. Is Addicted To The Knife
Author: darkbluerain
Rating: PG13
Pairing: Alex Gaskarth/Joel Kanitz (All Time Low/This Century)
Summary: Alex needs a little help with the agony.
Disclaimer: Never happened, of course. Title belongs to Repo! The Genetic Opera, as does the cut.
Author Notes: Oh yes loves, I went there. A Repo! universe fic. The title doesn't hint at anything, however. Alexander won't be a surgery addict. It just sounded very catchy. This has been in the works for like, ever. There's been a lot of Repo! related things popping up around me lately, so I decided to go ahead and post it. This is set before Rotti, Nathan, and Mag's deaths.

Walking the streets of Sanitarium Square in the dark hours of night, Alex Gaskarth heard nothing except the sound of his own dirty boots on pavement as he navigated his way about. No sane person (not that there were many sane people in this city, especially with the Largos running it) would be up at this hour. The only people he passed were Z addicts dazed on the side of the road and the occasional GeneCop. The usual backdrop of advertisements, city sounds, and the screams of the repossessed were so commonplace he barely even heard them.
Alex pauses, turns around to make sure he isn't followed. He's done this before, but while normally falling into a habit would make one more comfortable, it makes Alex more and more jittery. Every time something new causes his heart to skip a few beats, his feet leave the ground for a few seconds as he jumps in surprise, especially once he's in the alley. This time around, it's an addict.
He's seen her before, so many times. Cotton candy pink hair, tanned skin, plum colored lipstick. She's nearly always right around the last corner Alex has to make, always staring at the wall opposite her; serene, numb. Just like all the rest. He walks past her, trying his best to still his heart as he gets closer, closer...there.
They always meet in the same spot. Two posters hang up on the grimy brick wall. The first an displaying an all too familiar message.
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BE AN ORGAN REPO MAN?
Alex shudders. He may resort to the streets to numb his pain, but at least he had enough money to never have to fear repossession. His heart would be paid off in about another two weeks, and his facial reconstruction would only take only another five months. Then he would never again have to worry about that which he'd feared for years. The other poster displayed the face of the very man he'd came to meet.
A hand covers Alex's eyes.
"Guess who?"
By this point Alex is no longer surprised when this happens. He turns, looking into familiar sunglasses clad eyes and tousled blonde hair. Joel's bright smile was always infectious, and Alex couldn't help but let a smile creep onto his face at well. Not many dealers went by their first names (or real names, for that matter). Alex couldn't help but trust him.
These meetings always began the same, and tonight was no different. Joel leans up against the wall, rummages in his jacket pocket, and pulls out a cigarette, using his other hand to search his jeans for a lighter. This pocket was also the one where Alex could see the faint blue glow of what he'd come for. While Joel lit his ever present cigarette, Alex's eyes wander over his shoulder, back to the poster that displayed his dealer's face.
WANTED FOR:
ZYDRATE PEDDLING
VANDALISM

The poster advertised a reward for any information regarding his whereabouts.
"So kid, how much longer are you gonna be on this stuff? I mean, you've had the surgeries already." Joel's sunglasses slip down his nose, showing off his eyes.
"Unless your like the other junkies, huh? Looking for a little jolt in your everyday life?"
"No! I just...I don't know, I need the numbness..."
This was true. The world around Alex filled him with so many negative emotions. He needed to get away, some form of escape...
And then, that night at Jack's, he'd had his first hit.
He'd recently gotten back from the facial reconstruction. They'd held a party in honor of his successful surgery, and Jack had somehow got his hands on the familiar glowing drug and the gun that administered it.
Joel waves a hand in front of Alex's face.
"Hey kid? My money?"
Alex snaps out of his reverie, reaching into his wallet and pulling out his payment, dropping it in Joel's hand. The blonde smiled appreciatively, reaching into his pocket once again.
Zydrate.
Alex's eyes went wide with wanting at the sight of it. Joel smiles, inserting the glass vial into the silver gun. He circles Alex slowly, not unlike a bird of prey, running his pale fingertips across Alex's face.
"So where will it be this time?"
Joel's lips ghost over Alex's ear, leaving behind light, barely there kisses.
"The side, the hip, the thigh? It's your choice Alex..."
Joel's final kiss is on Alex's cheek, leaving the brunette blushing softly. Recovering, he manages to mumble,
"Thigh."
Joel smiles, leaning down on one knee and holding the gun up to Alex's thigh. One quick pull of the trigger and Alex feels the familiar jolt, the beloved feeling quickly spreading through his body. He sways a bit, and Joel catches him, laughing softly and placing a quick kiss to Alex's smiling lips.
"Sometimes I wonder how we ever got here."
