Simple.  If you watch Grey's you get it.  If you don't I urge you to pop in Grey's start from Season 1.  My favorite character is Meredith Grey.  I think everyone can relate to her on some sort of level.  We both got the crap childhood, although I was lucky enough to meet my McDreamy earlier in life to save me.
