Graduation Day is Chaotic in the VD Finale (My Ep. 23 Thoughts - Pt. 2)

Synopsis: WHO WILL TAKE THE CURE? - On Graduation Day, Mystic Falls is overrun with ghosts intent on settling old scores and fulfilling their supernatural destinies. Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) life is in danger after a ghostly encounter, while Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) join forces to battle a ghost determined to find the cure. As everyone gathers for the graduation ceremony and the ghosts converge, help comes from an unlikely hero. Caroline (Candice Accola) receives a touching and unexpected graduation present, and Bonnie's (Kat Graham) plan leads to the closing of the veil. Elena (Nina Dobrev) makes a decision about the Salvatore brothers and faces an epic confrontation with Katherine (Nina Dobrev). Finally, Stefan (Paul Wesley) discovers a horrifying clue to the mystery surrounding Silas.

Part 1 Ended Where...Klaus just saved Caroline, Elena and Stefan from the ghost-witches
Damon’s Room
- Elena checks on Damon
- Damon is cured
- Elena slaps Damon (for his stubbornness in regards to taking the cure to heal him)
Boarding House (Downstairs)
- Vampires overhear the slap
- “Ouch.” -Lexi
- “Yeah, I taught her that swing.” -Alaric (he sounds proud)
- Elena enters
- Elena wonders where Jeremy is
- Alaric reveals that Jeremy will be there soon
- Elena asks to talk to Stefan
- They leave
- Lexi and Alaric talk about life after the Other Side
- “How do we do that when the knuckleheads we care about can’t keep their lives straight?” -Alaric
- “Right.” -Lexi
- He does have a point yet so does she
Boarding House (Hallway)
- Stefan wonders what Elena wants to talk about
- Elena thanks Stefan for staying to help her out when she was at her worst
- Elena gives Stefan the cure
- Stefan refuses
- Elena gives Stefan her reason as to why he should have the cure
Football Field (Night)
- Klaus approaches Caroline
- Caroline questions how Klaus got to Mystic Falls so fast
- Klaus revealed that he was already on his way to Mystic Falls (he got her invitation)
- Aww!!! She invited him!
- I wonder if Rebekah sent her brother an invitation
- GIFT TIME!
- Klaus was originally going to invite Caroline to New Orleans as her gift but he knew that she'd refuse it
- Klaus’ gift to Caroline is Tyler’s freedom
- Caroline is stunned
- “He is your first love. I intend to be your last.” -Klaus
- Klaus kisses Caroline’s cheek
- Klaus gives Caroline his congratulations for graduating
Boarding House
- Damon waits by the fireplace
- Elena walks in
- Damon reveals that he’s not sorry and that he’s selfish
- “There is no apology in the world that encompass all the reasons that I'm wrong for you.” -Damon
- Elena argues how Damon’s presence in her life has affected her
- “I’m not sorry that I’m in love with you.” -Elena
- That’s got to be the best ‘fight’ ever!!
- Damon rushes and kisses Elena!
- Hallelujah!
- Is it just me or do all of Delena's major kisses happen in front of that fireplace?
- Stefan overheard from another room
- Lexi calls him out on his eavesdropping (before comforting him)
- Why couldnt' Stefan/Lexi work out in their past?
- Was that another reason why Elena gave Stefan the cure…so that he would be reminded of Delena for eternity?
COMMERCIAL
Boarding House (Outside)
- Stefan reloads Silas into a different car
- Damon approaches
- Stefan refuses Damon’s offer to join him
- Lexi is going with Stefan
- Stefan stops Damon from leaving
- Stefan tells Damon that he’s not happy about Elena but he’s not-not happy about Damon
- Does that mean Stefan is happy for Damon?
Cave Below the School
- Bonnie gets ready to close the veil
- Jeremy arrives
- Bonnie is surprised
- Jeremy wants to be with Bonnie when she closes the veil
- Jeremy didn’t say goodbye to Elena (he couldn’t without tears) - he wrote a letter to her
- Bonnie starts chanting
Boarding House
- Alaric waits by the window
- Damon walks in
- Alaric asks about Elena
- Damon says that Elena went looking for Bonnie and Jeremy
- Alaric looks at Damon…he notices and asks him about it
- “You got the girl man.” -Alaric
- “I got the girl.” -Damon (smiles)
- I just realized something...Alaric has been rooting for his best friend and his step-daughter to get together
- Damon pours himself a drink
- Alaric disappears
- I guess the veil is being put back up...bye Alaric! *pout*
Road
- Lexi wonders where Stefan is going to head next
- Stefan has no idea
- Stefan wonders what if Elena was the ‘one’
- Lexi agrees but she reminds Stefan that vampires have multiple ‘ones’
- Lexi tells Stefan to let go
- Stefan thinks about Portland
- Lexi disappears
- “See ya Lexi.” -Stefan
School - Boiler Room
- Elena walks in (she’s looking for Bonnie and Jeremy)
- Kol is thrilled
- Kol throws Elena down
- Kol rushes to attack
- Elena braces herself for Kol’s attack
- Kol disappears
- Elena comes face to face with Katherine
- Katherine throws Elena around
COMMERCIAL
Cave Below School
- Bonnie continues to chant
- Bonnie warns to Jeremy that the veil is almost close
- Jeremy reveals that he has so many things to say to Bonnie
- “Don’t say anything.” -Bonnie
- Bonnie kisses Jeremy
- Jeremy gasps
- Bonnie reveals that Jeremy is alive again
- Jeremy rushes to hold Bonnie
- Jeremy can’t feel Bonnie…he realizes that Bonnie is dead
- Jeremy can’t believe it
- Neither can I...how is that possible (Jeremy's resurrection)?
- Bonnie tells Jeremy to tell Elena and Caroline that she’s spending the summer with her mom
- Jeremy doesn’t want to lie but he gets why Bonnie doesn’t want to cause Caroline and Elena any pain
- It looks like Jeremy's 3rd girlfriend is now a ghost too
- Bonnie walks off and takes Shelia’s hand
- So Jeremy is still a Medium (he can see Bonnie & Shelia) but is he still a member of the Five?
Lockwood Mansion
- Matt opens the door to see Rebekah there
- Matt doesn’t invite Rebekah in (out of respect to Tyler)
- Rebekah brings up the future she brought up while they were under duress
- Matt tells Rebekah that he needs to keep vampires out of his love life
- Rebekah is disappointed
- Matt tells Rebekah that he wants what happens on the road to stay there
- Rebekah is stunned
- Matt shares that he’s never stepped foot out of Mystic Falls
- Matt accepts Rebekah's offer to travel the world with her
- Rebekah is thrilled
School Hallway
- Katherine continues to throw Elena around
- Elena fights back
- Katherine believes that Elena stole her happiness
- Elena is furious (Katherine had ruined Elena's life)
- Katherine breaks off the wooden broom
- Katherine stabs Elena with the broom a few times
- Elena can't die...especially not after Damon finally got a real chance to be with her!!!
- Flashback for Elena
- Stefan argues that everything he did to get the cure was for Elena
- Stefan gives the cure back to Elena
- Katherine grabs into Elena’s chest
- Elena takes the cure out and pushes it into Katherine’s mouth and breaks the seal
- Katherine is now human
- Ironic isn't it? Since Katherine wanted to be the ultimate immortal and yet she gets her mortality back
- Now that Katherine's human, would her blood work to help Klaus make more hybrids?
- I wonder how everyone will react to Elena's use with the cure...will Elena regret it later on?
Quarry
- Stefan gets ready to dump Silas’ body into the quarry
- Stefan unveils Silas only to reveal that Silas is alive (and in Elena’s form)
- Silas reveals that he broke out of the stone state when Bonnie died
- Stefan learns that Bonnie is dead
- Silas talks about how nature works with balance
- Silas revealed that he was the one that created the immortality spell
- Silas talks about how his balance is his shadow-self
- Stefan can’t believe that Katherine/Elena is the shadow-self of Silas
- Silas reveals that he is actually Stefan’s shadow-self
- I’m so confused by this part of the mythology!
- Silas stabs Stefan, locks him in the steel cell before tossing him into the quarry
- Silas is taking over as Stefan
- OMG!!!
CREDITS
- How long will it take for anyone to realize that Stefan isn’t Stefan anymore but Silas?

Now with my 'thoughts during the episode' out of the way...lets get on to the in-depth stuff.

First thing is first...I was completely wrong on all three predictions:
Main Character Death = Bonnie (since she remained as a ghost)
Resurrection = Jeremy (which makes the tradition of one main character death per season still in tact)
Cure = Katherine (hadn’t even crossed my mind)
I also noticed something else...a KISS TALLY is needed ('cause there was a lot of that going on):
1) Matt/Rebekah (lips) -- I wonder how their trip together will be
2) Klaus/Caroline (her cheek) -- I loved how Klaus declared that he would wait forever for Caroline
3) Damon/Elena (lips) -- their fight/confession was the best (it brought another couple to mind too *wink*)
4) Jeremy/Bonnie (lips) -- so sad when he realized the true situation but what a lovely farewell for now
Has there even been an episode that featured so many couples having a long overdue kiss?
I mean this episode already beat the # for most guest stars (15!)
This episode also marked Matt Davis' 50th appearance as Alaric (I hope its not his last though).
In regards to the Elena/Katherine showdown:
At one point I actually thought that if Katherine killed Elena then she might die too since they were each other's doppelgangers (glad I was wrong then again...the showdown from the books could have led me towards that thought in the first place).
Question: Now that Katherine is human, would her (now human) doppelganger blood work in the hybrid creation process?
I can't wait to see everyone's reaction to Katherine being human again (or the fact that Elena came out on top in that fight...where Katherine had 500yrs advantage).
Now onto the Silas discovery:
I'm still shocked by it (and I will admit that it still confuses me).
Let's get the facts straight:
- Stefan is Silas' doppelganger WHICH MEANS that Stefan is Silas' descendant (I didn't think Silas had a child)
- Its safe to say that Damon is also Silas' descendant (I wonder if Silas had a brother)
- I wonder how Damon will feel about being related to Silas
- Qetsiyah is the ancestor of Bonnie's bloodline (which includes, Emily, Ayanna and the witch that created the Brotherhood of the Five)
- If Silas had returned Qetsiyah's feelings, I wonder where that would have left the now-separate Bennett and Salvatore lines
- Do you think its possible that Bonnie, Stefan and Damon had a shared ancestor?
This episode definitely has me thinking on what to incorporate into my "More Than a Petrova 2" story (SPN/VD).
Well today was also the end of my first week back at school and I'm already swamped with readings (why me?!?) I hope you all are fairing better than me!
