"Days Of Our Lives" -- My Say in Today's Ep. Development (kinda)

Jan 31, 2013 13:45

Okay, I can't take it anymore...there are so many things I've peeved about when it comes to "Days of our Lives" and yet I can't stop watching it.

It infuriates me how naive these characters can be. I know they are fictitious but I can't help the reaction I get after watching their storylines unfold on screen.

The Baby Fiasco (Will/Gabby/Nick)

Let me just say that I hate Nick Fallon and while it was great at the beginning when he showed some support for Gabby when she had no one (aside from Will) in her corner at the time, I can easily see how controlling, manipulating and judgemental he is. I mean Gabby basically has no say now in that relationship and then there is Will (his own cousin) who Nick who not only doesn't like that Will is gay but he's trying to send Will to prison to protect the baby which makes no sense. The baby would not only be safer with Will because he's the father but because he's not a convicted killer like Nick. I don't know anything about custody battles but would a parent with no record have a better chance than one who did? And I think if Nick went that far and brought up Will's attempted murder against EJ (it is going to cause a lot of rifts for everyone), then I sure hope that Chad brings up Gabby's involvement in Melanie's kidnapping to help Will out because then it would be plain as day that the biological parents have less of a criminal history than the mother's groom-to-be (does that make sense?) And my Chad-plan doesn't work, then I hope Nick's plan against Will has Gabby open her eyes and see that Nick is not a good influence on her unborn daughter. I'm just glad that Justin wants nothing to do with Nick's potential plans against Will.

Love Triangle (EJ/Sami/Rafe)

EJ may be the 'villain' of Salem with him being a DiMera and while I've always rooted for EJ/Sami, I never liked how Sami always seemed to have only her best interests at heart (even when on some occasions her focus should be on her kids and not how things effect her). No matter how much good EJ does to redeem himself, Sami always seems to string him along which is evident when it comes to her flipped-feelings between EJ and Rafe. At times I think EJ should just move on from Sami but then there are times when I want him to finally get the girl he wants (and actually keep her). The fact that this duo with their two kids look absolutely adorable together does help.

I'm also Team EJ because of how he handles Will; it seems like he's a better parent to Will in a crisis than Sami (taking the baby issue as a recent example).

Brady's Stupidity

I can get why Brady truly believes in the phrase "people can change" because as a ex-drug-addict, he works to change his life around and get back to a semblance of what it was before he started using (or to make a better one). My issue is the fact that he thinks this phrase can apply to Kristen because when it comes to Kristen, to him, she made a complete 180 term in personality which is impossible for any person to change that much, which should have made him suspicious. While I admire that he wants to see the good in her and fight for their relationship, something in his mind should be giving him warning bells if everyone he's met (and is friends with) tells him to stay away from Kristen because she's bad news. If a girl comes between a guy and his family, then the guy should know that the girl is not the right one for him. If Kristen truly was the right girl for Brady then his family should be welcoming her (like they were with Madison).

I guess the same thing could apply to the Chloe/Daniel/Jennifer situation with Chloe playing Dan/Jen against one another while she happily watches them fall apart.

Well that's the end of my rant and the end of the today's episode.
I'll be back tonight for my VD thoughts!!!
