Jack Returns for the Mid-Season Finale on SPN! (My 13x09 Thoughts)

Alright so here is a jotted recap of the episode with my initial thoughts included throughout and after the episode. I do it this way because my memory sucks when it comes to recalling things that don't revolve around my OTP for the series.
SEASON 13
**MAJOR SPOILER ALERT*
"Supernatural" - ep. 13x09 ("The Bad Place") [CW Promo]

Synopsis: JACK AND KAIA DISRUPT THE WORLD - Jack (Alexander Calvert), desperate to prove to Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) that he is good and that he can control his powers, enlists the help of a dreamcatcher named Kaia (guest star Yadira Guevara-Prip) to help him find Mary Winchester (guest star Samantha Smith) and save her from the alternate universe. However, when plans go awry, the Winchester brothers are the ones who need saving.
This is it! Part 1 of 2 for the backdoor pilot for the "Wayward Sisters" spinoff!!

- Jack's powers as Lucifer's child
- Dean doesn't believe that Jack could get back Mary
- Jack remembers Lucifer trying to contact him as a baby

NOW
Studio
- A couple (Derek & Paula Swan) make out in an artist's studio
- Derek has a piece that a buyer is interested in (art of black figure with red eyes)
- Paula needs to leave for work
- Derek's new client arrives...it's Jack
- "Jack, welcome. You're young." -Derek Swan
- "I am." -Jack
- Paula leaves for work
- Jack brings up his research on Derek Swan (a dreamwalker)
- Derek denies it
- Jack brings up Derek's family connections in the dreamwalking profession
- Derek continues to deny it
- Jack offers to pay
- Derek wonders what Jack wants from him
- Derek dreamwalks toward one of his paintings
- Derek hits a wall
- "I'm not strong enough." -Derek
- "Stay!" -Jack
- Jack uses his powers to see the other world through Derek's dreamwalk
- Derek shakes in pain
- Jack can see it all
- Derek begs for Jack to stop
- Later Paula returns home
- Paula screams when she finds Derek dead with his eyes burned out
TITLE CARD
Bunker
- Dean returns with food
- He leaves a voicemail message for Patience
- Dean wonders about Castiel
- Sam said that he was told about a lead that Castiel is checking up
- Dean gets a call from Jody
- Jody has a case for them that puts Jack as the suspect
- "I think it's your boy." -Jody
Turner Household
- Patience sees her voicemail from Dean
- Patience is meant to be studying
- James checks in on Patience...about her low test scores
- Patience brings up Dean's voicemail message though she hasn't answered it
- James wonders what's wrong
- Patience claims nothing is wrong
- James leaves
- Patience checks her phone again
North Dakota
- Sam and Dean check out Derek's case
- Paula Swan identifies Jack as Derek's buyer
- Paula explains Derek's painting progress
- "Derek was a dreamwalker." -Paula
- Dean finds the painting that looks like the Apocalypse World
- Sam and Dean are on edge
WEBCLIP No. 2 -- Parking Lot
- Dean returns to the Impala with their coffees
- Sam is waiting with John's journal
- Sam updates Dean on the research on dreamwalking
- Inconsistent lore
- Dean interrupts and brings up the possibility of Jack trying to reunite with Lucifer
- Dean brings up Derek's painting that resembles the Apocalypse World
- "So Jack gave up on us and now he's looking for Daddy." -Dean
- "Dean, we don't know that." -Sam
- "Don't we? The guy is dead. Look, I hate this too but we've got to be prepared." -Dean
- "To kill him." -Sam
- Dean tells Sam that he doesn't want to kill Jack but if he's evil now, they have no choice
- "Okay, I actually like the kid, I do, but we're in worst case scenario land here." -Dean
- Sam wants more information first before they do anything
- "I mean we gotta figure out what Jack wanted, how dreamwalking even works." -Sam
- "Okay then let's go to the reservation. Let's go talk to a Chief or a Tribal Leader." -Dean
- "Or we talk to a dreamwalker." -Sam
- Sam brings up Derek's emails to a fellow dreamwalker (Kaia)
- Derek has been trying to teach Kai how to use her power
Support Group
- Kaia is stuck in a support group after she overdosed on drugs
- Counsellor tries to get Kaia to open up and talk about what brought her to them
- Kaia refuses to talk about it
- "I don't belong here. I'm not an addict." -Kaia
- In her anger, Kaia admits that drugging herself keeps her awake and away from the bad place
- Counsellor tries to cling to that symbolism
- After the session, Kai runs into Jack
COMMERICAL
Support Group (Inside)
- Kaia tries to lose Jack
- Jack brings up his connection to Derek and her dreamwalking
- Kaia is stunned
- Jack offers to get Kaia out of her support group
- Kaia is intrigued
- "I can get you out of here." -Jack
- "How?" -Kaia
- "Follow me." -Jack
- Jack turns to walk away
Outside
- Sam and Dean pull up
- Sam shares information about Kaia
Inside
- Jack puts one of the employees to sleep when he takes notice
- Kaia is shocked
- "What'd you do?" -Kaia
- "Don't worry. He's just sleeping. You're not the only one with powers." -Jack
- Jack breaks the doorknob of a locked door
- Kaia is stunned again
- "That door was triple-locked." -Kaia
- "Was it?" -Jack
WEBCLIP No. 1 starts
- Jack leads Kaia outside
- Kaia reluctanly follows until she's free
- "What are you?" -Kaia
- "That's a long story." -Jack
- Jack motions for Kaia to leave with him
- Kaia refuses
- Jack brings up their deal
- Kaia restates the deal she heard from him
- "This way." -Jack
- "Yeah...no." -Kaia
- "What?" -Jack
- "Thanks for the jailbreak and all but I don't know you. And I don't know
- what the hell is going on so I'm out." -Kaia
- "No, we had a deal." -Jack
- "You said you'd get me out. That's the deal I heard." -Kaia
- "You can't." -Jack
- "Watch me." -Kaia
- Jack grabs Kaia to keep her from leaving
- "You will help me." -Jack
- Sam and Dean rush in
- Sam calls out to Jack
- Jack gets distracted
- Kaia kicks Jack in the leg before punching him in the face
- Kaia takes off
- Sam and Dean rush to Jack
- "She hit me." -Jack
- "Yeah, good." -Dean
- "No! She's getting away!" -Jack
- Dean stops Jack from going after Kaia
- "We're not letting you near her until you tell us what's going on!" -Dean
- "I need her!" -Jack
- "You need her like you needed Derek?" -Sam
- "Yes!" -Jack
- Jack calms down a bit before he tries to explain
- "I'm doing this for you."- Jack
- "Wait, you killed Derek for us?" -Dean
- "Derek's dead?" -Jack
- Dean rethinks Jack's stance when he reacts to the news
- Sam wants answers
- "Wait, hold on a second, Jack, tell us what happened. Everything!" -Sam
- "I left to try to get a grip on my powers. I wanted to prove to you that I'm good, to do one good thing.
- So I did the thing you wanted most." -Jack
- Jack admits that he experimented his ability to travel to other worlds but he could only get to the egde of it (feeling the world)
- Jack researched about dreamwalkers, someone that could help him by being his eyes in the process
- Flashback to Jack's visit to Derek Swan
- Through Derek, Jack saw the Apocalypse World until he saw Mary in her torture chamber
- Jack pulled away and checked on Derek when it got to be too much
- Derek was still alive
- Jack admits that he saw Mary alive in the vision quest
- "I saw her." -Jack
- "Her?" -Sam
- "Your mother. She's alive." -Jack
- Sam and Dean don't understand what that means
- "It's easier if I show you." -Jack
- Jack uses his powers to show the brothers what he saw of Mary
- Sam and Dean see the same vision quest that Jack saw through Derek
- Dean is overwhelmed
- Jack explains to Sam that Derek was alive after and that he told him about Kaia being more powerful
Road
- Kaia hitchhikes only to get picked up by two people with angel blades
- Kaia is knocked unconscious
- Damn Angels
COMMERICAL
Unknown
- Patience sees visions of Jody being stabbed in the woods with flashes of Sam and Dean there too
- Patience wakes up in the parking lot (mid-park)
Warehouse
- Kaia wakes up to her captors
- The angels want Jack
- The angels tortured Derek for Jack's location
- The angels killed Derek after he gave up Kaia's location
- The angels want to use Kaia as bait for
Parkling Lot
- Sam and Dean digest the news and make a new plan to find Kaia
- "Now that we do know." -Sam
- "We find her, no matter what it takes." -Dean
- Jack wonders what the brothers had thought he wanted Kaia for
- The Winchester bring up Lucifer
- "Why would I look for him? He's no one to me. You, Castiel, you're my family." -Jack
- "Yes we are. Finding our mom, you did a really good thing." -Dean
- Jack reacts to a headache...angel radio
- Jack knows that the angels have Kaia
Turner Household
- Patience packs her things
- Patience admits to James that her visions never stopped
- Patience can't sit back when someone's life is in danger
- "I tried pushing them down, ignoring them, but now I can't." -Patience
- Patience brings up that James raised her to do the right thing
- "If I don't go, people will die." -Patience
- James gives Patience an ultimatium...if she walks out, she officially picks the hunting life
- Patience walks out
Warehouse
- The angels wait for Jack
- Kaia believes that no one will come to rescue her
- "No one is going to fight for me. I don't matter." -Kaia
- Jack and the Winchesters show up
- Angels tries to reason with Jack
- Jack refuses
- "Come with us. Come home." -Angel
- "I am home." -Jack
- One Angel attacks Dean
- Second Angel pulls her angel blade out and heads to Jack
- Jack uses his powers to throw back the second angel
- Jack uses his powers to force the first angel to kill himself
- The Winchesters tend to Kaia
- Kaia wants answers
- "Yeah, the whole world is insane. Deal with it." -Dean
- Jack asks Kaia to help him
- Kaia refuses
- "Kaia, we need you to dreamwalk for us." -Jack
- "It's not a gift, it's a curse." -Kaia
- Jack reveals that Derek taught him about places where the veil between worlds is thinnest
- Jack wanted to take Kaia to a cave that acted as one
- Kaia still refuses to dreamwalk
- Kaia admits that she doesn't freely dreamwalk like Derek could
- Kaia only travels to one place (The Bad Place) where she's stuck seeing monsters and gore
- Kaia shows her scars
- Kaia reveals that if she gets hurt in her dreamwalk, she gets scars from it when she wakes up
- Kaia refuses to help them though she's sorry about their situation
- Sam suggests finding another way with her help
- Dean pulls out his gun and demands for Kaia to get in the car with them (Sam and Jack are stunned yet stay silent)
- "Get in the damn car!" -Dean
- Kaia reluctantly goes to the car
- "We're going to South Dakota." -Dean
COMMERICAL
Road
- Long drive to South Dakota with Dean behind the wheel
- Kaia and Jack are silent in the back
- Sam quickly talks to Dean about his aggression
- Dean reminds Sam of their promise earlier
- "We get Mom back no matter what, remember?" -Dean
- Jack apologizes to Kaia and tries to connect with her
- Kaia reacts to Jack's use of Derek's name
- Jack asks Kaia to give him 5 seconds to show him what Derek showed him (not just the bad but the good)
- Kaia agrees to 5 seconds
- Jack shows Kaia what Derek showed him
- Kaia is shocked yet overjoyed by what she sees
- "Our powers can be good. We can do good in this world." -Jack
- Dean comes across another car that suddenly blares their lights at them
- Dean narrowly misses the car before driving to escape
- Dean rushes to hide the car
- Sam takes care of Jack and Kaia
- Dean tosses Sam a bag and tells them to head to the boat
- Dean confronts the Woman Angel
- Angels want Jack to replenish the angels
- Dean refuses
- More angels show up in their cars
- Dean makes a run for it
Abandoned Ship
- Sam is painting his sigils as they pass
- Jack reassures Kaia that they will protect her
- Dean joins them with warnings that the angels are ambushing them
- Dean tells them to go up
- Angels assemble and scatter around the ship
- Angels use their angel blades to slam the ground to break through the sigils
- Jack knows that if they get to the top floor then everyone is dead
- Kaia wants to escape through dreamwalking
- Dean wonders if that's possible
- Jack thinks he could do it
- Kaia gets into position and starts to dreamwalk
- Kaia finds herself in the bad place (monsters in the woods)
- Jack connects himself to Kaia
- Kaia freaks out when a monster appears
- Jack tells Kaia to let go
- Kaia tries and does it
- Jack has access to her dreamwalking
- Jack finds the Apocalypse World and Mary's location
- Angels slowly break through the sigils
- Kaia fights between the two worlds
- Jack tells Kaia to focus
- Kaia gets pulled into her power
- The angels are blasted from the power
- A rift is formed in Kaia's place....her, Jack, Sam and Dean are gone
COMMERICAL
South Dakota
- Jody leaves a message for Sam
- "I just need to know you're okay." -Jody
- Jody hears a knock at the door
- Jody is surprised to see Patience Turner
- Patience admits to seeing something bad coming
Abandoned Ship
- Half-melted angel blades with burned angel wings on the walls
Field
- Kaia is found unconscious in a field (closer to a side of the road)
Apocalypse World
- Jack wakes up at Mary's hanging feet
- Mary's confused
- Jack is stunned that he found Mary
- They stare at each other
The Bad Place
- Sam and Dean wake up with their angel blades in the woods
- The brothers go investigate
- "Where the hell are we?" -Dean
- The brothers found themselves in a massive footprint
- Is that a dinosaur footprint?!
