The Ball was great. (As usual) Good music. Good friends. Altogether good time.
Even the trip up was exciting. We travel to Philly via Rt.1 thru Delaware. As we were approaching the exit for Odessa, there had been an accident just minutes before our arrival. 2 mini-vans had sideswiped each other and then both rolled. One driver was actually about 100 yards away from his vehicle. I know this because we decided to stop and help.
I directed traffic as my daughter and her friend helped with the 2 victims, the drivers of said vehicles until emergency crews came.
When police showed up and spoke to witnesses, it became apparent that there may be 1 other victim. Thus began the manhunt for the potential missing body. This included emergency personnel and anyone willing.
We fanned out in a organized line, for about 2 mins. The we became a kind of organized crooked horseshoe.
We sent people into the drainage ditch. We joined together to overturn one of the mini-vans. There were two firemen with thermal cameras. Alas, to no avail.
It was determined that the man may have been delusional due to his head injury. Maybe he meant there was another vehicle involved.
I figured that we had done all we could do to help and decided to leave. The number of emergancy personell had grown considerably and there wasn't much more we could do but be in the way.
I'm sure they probably got out the dogs to make one last sweep of the area. But it does make one wonder.
On the way home from the Ball, we had the privelege to see a bum fight. 4 bums were present, but only 2 were engaged in the fight. The other 2 seemed lost in conversation and did not give any attetion to the others.
The fighters were a male and female. The male was face down on the sidewalk as the female was on top hold one arm down and grinding the face of the male into the sidewalk. The male seemed unconcious.
I can not say more, we were in traffic entering a ramp for Rt.95. I would have liked to have had a longer look. Maybe next time.
