I am pleased to report that Tim was released today in the mid afternoon, after Tim had his first solid food and had the drain removed, which looked really creepy as about a foot of tubing came out of the hole in his abdomen. Tim didn't think much of it; he took a deep breath that you could tell was "Oh, SHIT!" Then we had to wait at the pharmacy for about 45 minutes while his percriptions were filled- he came home with 4 meds to take for the next few days. He is not to lift anything over 20 lbs (and of course we'll be needing chicken feed- oh boy, I get to carry 50 lb bags... I told Tim screw that, I'd just keep the bags of feed in my car and dip into them every day to feed the hens!) I brought in firewood and Tim took the trash out which I told him I'd do but he insisted.
So now he will have follow ups with our regular doctor who did the colonoscopy, another doctor for removal of the staples (he had his stomach stapled! Just not the way we usually think of) and then the surgical center where the colonoscopy was done (they called this afternoon right after we got home- they had no idea what had gone down and she was quite baffled when I said he'd just got home from the hospital! So I filled her in and she kept making shocked noises)
Tim is to stay active, and do a lot of stuff like walking to finish waking the bowels up (although they seem plenty active now) and keep from getting pneumonia or blood clots or adhesions. He was walking around and around the halls of the second floor; we don't have an indoor walking area here and of course it's raining; not sure what he'll do.
Thank you all for the thoughts, energy and prayers; I'd like to ask that they be continued a few more days while he recovers and we wait for news of the biopsies.
fuckage,
tim's health
