Arts of a Martial nature

Last night I finished my 5th week of learning Hsing Yi (aka xingyiquan) and Pa Kua (aka bagua). There's only 3 of us who are starters that actually take both classes. The Hsing Yi class has 6 of us who are new, and Pa Kua has about 8 (which is appropriate if you know about Pa Kua). I love learning both, which means I'll be continuing it. The joining day is only about once per year, hence why I joined immediately. I can't give up now or I'd have to wait another year.

The problem is finding time to practice my Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Kong Jing, Hsing Yi, Pa Kua and Shaolin Kung Fu, and as each one gets more involved, each one will require more time and attention, and therefore more practice is required. I'll have to build a mini Dojo or something next to my house, as there isn't much room to practice at home, especially with Pa Kua. In fact, Pa Kua is impossible to practice except for the turning around parts because I need loads of space.

Sifu Hine keeps us all enthusiastic about it all though by telling us stories of his masters, experiences of his other students, the history of the martial arts and how beneficial each one is. If anything it'll help me become fitter.

This Saturday I have my 3 hour Shaolin Kung Fu class. Last lesson we were doing some weird double kick, which was fun. And I found out how far I can actually stretch myself, which was surprising. I MUST remember my bottle of water and a towel this time.
