Well, when a mommy cat and a daddy cat...

Hmmm...we thinks Peek-a-Boo might be pregnant. Which, by the way, is a bad thing. She's far too small (only two years of age, here) and we have really no idea how she could have gotten this way.

I noticed her getting "pudgy" once, but put it out of my mind, because she had been a small cat and I thought she was starting to finally eat heartily. But Drizzt made a comment about it a while back that got me worried, and I noticed how firm her belly really was, and that her nipples were a bit larger than they should be for a cat that's just "eating healthy". And recently, she was pretty defensive when Drizzt was petting her tummy. I later went back and tried to see if she would get upset again, because she sounded REALLY pissed about something...almost like he'd touched a sore spot.

I had mentioned Peek-a-Boo's weight to Mum a while back, and she said she'd be taking her in to the vet. Just a few minutes ago, though, I took a look at her stomach, and noticed her nipples were in fact larger, and showed them to Mum.

We're both pretty worried. None of our male cats are capable of producing offspring, they're all fixed (even though they like to pretend they aren't and like to help out when the females are..."in the mood".....).

There are times when my grandmother doesn't close the back door all the way, though, and Peek-a-Boo, along with a few of our other cats, have been found meandering outside. Now, I have seen at least two other cats in the neighborhood, both male, and probably not fixed. But with the other cats around, there would be no way that they'd be able to get to Peek-a-Boo..there would be a fur-flinging spat...not to mention there is the whole issue where the female cat spends a whole lot of time warding off the interested male until she becomes frustrated and just gives up. Plus, our cats were never outside long enough for all of that to take place.

Or were they??

We never have known exactly how long the grandmother has left that door unattended...so it could very well be possible.

The greatest concern is that there is Feline AIDs and Leukemia in this neighborhood, and if the possible (I say possible because she still (hopefully) may not be pregnant) father had one or the other, Peek-a-Boo and her kittens are done for.
