Spent most of Christmas and Boxing Day sleeping because Mark was pissing me off. He wasn't drunk and belligerent or anything that might've made Dad stick to his promise of kicking Mark out if he misbehaved, just kind of annoyingly childish in a way that really got under my skin. Since Dad spent most of his time cooking and Mum and Sam were doing their own thing, I just locked myself up in my room and conked out.
As for presents, my parents went the 'sensible' route and got me shirts and new shoes. Sam borrowed my list of books I want to buy and bought me two of the list. Also my parents bought Sam and I a board game each, Logo and Logo: TV and Movies. They're okay I guess but it was really something Sam wanted more than me.
Went to a New Year's party at the Weavers with Mum and Dad. Kinda underwhelming and couldn't help feeling a touch patronised when Mum and Dad kept saying how good it was I'd left the house.
Group therapy finally started last Thursday. I'm actually quite optimistic, everyone in the group seems nice and after some initial nerves everyone got involved in the discussion. We had to set a goal for ourselves, I said I'd try to spend time with someone outside my immediate family at least once in the coming week. Current progress on that is waiting for Yasmin to text about her work schedule, when she's gonna be free.
Spent some time watching Spoony's Counter Monkey series and got the urge to learn more about tabletop gaming. It's an aspect of nerd culture that I've been aware of for several years but my one attempt to join a roleplaying session was a play-by-post online game hosted by Hanna's older brother. He and his friends were unwelcoming, bordering on hostile, to me as a new player and that experience knocked all the enthusiasm out of me very quickly.
But I'm looking at tabletop gaming as a hobby that might actually help me meet new people. I know the Games Workshop in town holds gaming sessions and Yasmin's somewhat friendly with some of the guys who work there, so it may even be something we could do together. I've ordered a gamebook for Call of Cthulu from Amazon, should be arriving some time this week.
