1. What is your favorite Star Trek movie? I've seen bits and pieces of the movies but the only one I've ever sat down and watched the whole way through is XI. The one I've seen the most of is the one with the whales, which Ashley assures me is one of the worst they made. So I guess: XI.
2. What is your favorite scene in STXI? When they had to dive down onto the Romulan platform thing that was destroying Vulcan and I noticed that Olson was wearing a red spacesuit I had to pause the DVD and run to tell Mum because I was laughing that hard.
3. When were you first introduced to the Star Trek franchise? I used to watch TOS on BBC at six with my family when I was really little, so I don't remember it very well. I remember an episode with a virus that affects adults and turns them crazy so the planet was full of gangs of kids and teenagers, and Kirk fell for a girl who was on the verge of turning into an adult and Bones had to warn Kirk that she was going to get the virus; but then he found a cure and all was good. Also there was an episode where they found a planet that gave Spock emotions and he got into a fight with Kirk. Then I had a lot of knowledge of ST due to its presence in pop culture, like I knew most of Scotty's catchphrases and that Uhuru is one HBIC(of-routing-calls) and the fight between Kirk and Spock during the Vulcan mating season.
4. Is there anything Star Trek around the room in which you're currently sitting? What? Not really. As I've kinda established I'm a rather casual Star Trek fan, though I'm planning to get the boxset with all the TOS episodes and all six TOS movies; then after that, if I'm so way inclined, I will start on TNG and Voyager.
5. Vulcan ears are: A) cute, B) sexy, C) neither, D) both. Why is there no E) Other. Option? I think Vulcan ears are cool looking, but most Vulcans would insist calling them cute is illogical.
6. If you could be any other species than human in the Star Trek universe, you would be: See if I were a girl I'd pick Orion, but the male Orions are a little absent most of the time; and Vulcan is all well and good but I don't think I'd do well with being entirely logical, so Romulan; only a good Romulan.
7. Which pet would you rather have: a sehlat or a tribble? Tribble! OMFG TRIBBLE!
8. Who might you cast in the role of reboot Nurse Chapel? Khan? Other reboot character? I'm not good with actors and stuff so I can't choose; but Chapel had better retain the awesome hair and if Khan doesn't have man boobs there will be outcry from the fans.
9. Kirk and Spock are: The pairing that started slash, and so for that I thank them.
10. If you could give any Star Trek character a chance to be captain of the Enterprise, who would it be? Uhuru. I'd just like to see what would happen.
