New Years (Or at least what I can accurately recall)
Was meant to be meeting Yas in town at 1 o clock so I asked Sam to wake me up in time. He woke me at 10, I went back to bed. He woke me again at 10.30, I went back to bed. He woke me again at 11, etc. until 11.30.
Got up, had breakfast, took a bath, got dressed headed to town. Yasmin text to say she was running late. Listened to Aida soundtrack while waiting outside the library and ignoring the stares I got from passers-by who were gawking at my new leather duster.
Met Yas. Bought black tie from shop in underground market. Went to HMV to look at T-Shirts. Most T-Shirts were for New Moon (ugh) so we went to look at the games. On offer 2 for 30 quid. Yas got Lego Star Wars for herself and Blue Dragon for me (^__^), paid with discount cards.
Went to Subway for lunch, wandered to find a place to eat and met some of Yasmin's friends before deciding to eat our lunch sat on the floor in the middle of the bridge between the carpark and Friars Square.
Shopped a little longer then headed back to mine. Played Lips, took a while to coerce Yasmin into playing duets but once we had it was a lot of fun. Figured out how to sing songs off my iPod so I rocked the mic with Defying Gravity.
Gathered booze, blankets and took Lips along to meet Hanna and Alex at Tesco who picked us up and drove us to Kaylie's place. Made polite small talk with Kaylie til she and her boyfriend left, then walked Terra down to the shops so we could stock up on party food.
Got back. Played Lips til Midge arrived and called us noisy bastards (XD). Challenged Midge and won (w00t). Had started drinking by this point, bit hyped up on blue WKD (which smells like blueberry Flintstones freeze-pops) so I sang Defying Gravity again and apparently managed to out-gay myself.
Danced to music from Alex's iPod, chatted and just generally mingled while food was prepared. Then sat down for a good game of Drink Monopoly.
Monopoly has an evil soul and does not like me, but apparently drunken me must amuse Monopoly because I did okay. Had to take a few shots of Mickey Finns (which smells like Tesco apple licquorice laces) when I landed on Park Lane (Owned by Hanna Corps.) but otherwise did okay.
Switched to my iPod to play RENT Soundtrack for Midge, the two of us sang along to La Vie Boheme and the Monopoly was abandoned. Managed to knock my drink over onto the Monopoly board so we had to dry the money out on the radiators.
Switched the TV on in time to ring in the New Year, not that we were really paying much attention. Played Happy New Year A and B from the Rent Soundtrack, but again not really paying attention.
Had minor, but slowly incresing, paranoia meltdown thing. Had a conversation with Hanna about it at the top of the stairs but I was too afraid/freaked to really say anything.
Went to bed. Terra was irritatingly noisy most of the night and Hanna and Alex left early in the morning since they weren't really getting much sleep. Yas, Midge and I lazed for another few hours then got up at about 12.30 and tidied up downstairs. Gathered up my belongings and what food and drink was left and headed home.
Wanted to listen to my iPod but after a year the headphones have finally given up the ghost (:() I'll have to buy more tomorrow. Watched Mark play Oblivion and got a text from Hanna asking how I was (virtually no hangover) and if the freak-out had faded, unfortunately I ran out of credit as I tried to reassure her the freak-out was done and I was fine, so I'm saying it here. Hanna, don't worry. I'm all good.
Stumbled upon a Star Trek fest which I've signed up for, me being a glutton for punishment apparently. Hopefully it'll motivate me and be a lot of fun.
I hope everyone else had a good new year, if not: 2009 was a shitty year anyway. I looked back over my journal entries a few days back and it's horrifying to see how bad a year I had. I was so naive last January and my life's been shaken up quite a bit in the past 12 months, but I guess each year I always look back and see how much I've matured in a year. Maybe when I stop doing that I'll know I'm an adult at last.
So happy 2010 to us all and let's hope it's much better than the year before it.
