Ellie was seated in the dining room, in front of her a plate piled high with vegetables and steak. Both things she'd seriously missed in the past year. Despite everything, she rather enjoyed eating her fill. Again, something she hadn't much of a chance to do since the invasion.

Camp 16 with it's stale bread, mouldy oranges and as much peeled tomatoes as you can eat...well more than half of that had been thrown up within an hour of eating it. This? Now this was real food, and despite not being able to leave, the hotel had the food going for it at least.

She shoveled a rather large forkful of cauliflower into her mouth, chewing and swallowing quickly like she'd grown accostomed to.

She'd spent a whole day in her room mourning the death of her friends, now that it was (relatively) safe to do so. Mourning all the things they may have achieved and done together. Remembering their accomplishments but now...now was the time to begin to move on. She needed to remember them, but she also needed to live her own life. Not spend it mourning theirs. Not like the Hermit from Hell.
