Susan…hadn't felt right since the cosmic storm. She guessed it was a pretty odd thing to go through and that the average human body simply wasn't designed to go through that kind of stress or pressure, but she'd thought that she'd be used to things by now. It had been almost a month, after all, and she was no closer to understanding the changes to her DNA than she had been immediately after her "powers" had manifested. It was frightening, to say the least, and she felt sort of alone in it all even with Reed and Johnny's help.

She'd slept in today, not willing to submit to Reed's ridiculous demands about when they woke up and when they went to bed, and got herself some comfort food in the form of Froot Loops before settling in front of the ridiculously-huge plasma screen television for something numbing and, hopefully, soothing. Unfortunately, the TV Gods didn't seem to be in the business of relaxing one Susan Storm as everything she found, even on the infotainment networks like E!, was coverage about the so-called "Fantastic Four." Hah. Well, she didn't feel so fantastic.

She felt…exposed. She'd always liked her life, going to school and taking care of Johnny and making ends meet as best she could. She even liked it once she'd started dating Victor-even with the substantial change in social status, she had never been dogged by paparazzi or chased by adoring (and not so adoring) fans. She flipped off the television, already frustrated by the lack of options even on 500+ channel digital cable, and finished her Froot Loops in relative silence.

There had to be something to do in this monster of a complex and Susan, always resourceful, seemed to remember a pool on one of the floors of the Baxter Building. Swimming would be nice and relaxing and reminiscent of her college days, when she'd spend her two or three hours of down time between classes at the university pool with Johnny. She found a swimsuit in her rooms a few days before and laid it aside with the full intention of finding the pool and went to get it, slipping it on and heading to the thirteenth floor.

That should have been a sign. She got off the elevator and laid out her towel before diving into the pool in a graceful swan dive. The water was perfectly cool and Susan relished the feel of it before her lungs began to burn with lack of oxygen. Resigning herself to coming up for air, she popped up, surprised and stunned by the change in surroundings.

Was this another one of Reed's pet projects? She'd known him to do a lot of things, but she'd never known him to design a room that changed layout and pumped in artificial sunlight before. Weird. She climbed out of the pool and grabbed her towel, drying off just a little before pulling open the door. She fully expected to see the short hallway that led to the elevator-all decorated in utilitarian steel.

Instead, it looked like an old hotel. That was just…odd.
