Haley was just coming from the beach. She'd done a great deal of running, flips, and swimming. The sand was good for working out, sturdy enough for balance yet not too hard when you fall on your ass

Jack had found himself in the lobby again, frustrated and bored. He'd flipped through every single movie on the TV in his room, explored wherever he could outside, and accomplished absolutely nothing. It was starting to drive him just a little bit crazy.
When the door opened he raised his head. Young, scantily clad...For a moment he considered not warning her. Then his better nature won out.
"Don't come in here, sweetheart. Get in your car and drive away while you still can." Melodrama didn't mean it wasn't accurate.
She looked to him and the sweetheart set her off a little. She didn't care to much for pet names and such.
"I wish I could, but see the road keeps bringing me in a big circle back to this place. Was wondering if there was a back road I could catch or something."
Ah. Well, that was clear enough. Jack sighed. "Then you might as well come in." She was already caught. "There's no back road. I'm sorry. We're kind of...stuck, I suppose you might say." He motioned for her to come in. "I'd say welcome on board, but that's not as funny as it should be anymore."
"Wish I was. I mean, we're all being messed with on some level, I suppose, being stuck here. I'm sure when we find the way out we'll kick ourselves for missing it." Jack agreed pleasantly. At least they'd keep trying, until it worked. "The way in seems to be monopolizing things a bit- as in, everything that looks like a potential way out ends up being a way back in." He shrugged and held out his hand. "Captain Jack Harkness."
She was also kind of grateful though. She would miss her History final now. She decided to be optimistic rather than completely freak out. Plus, it didn't really hit her now. It would hit her when she woke up tomorrow and couldn't leave.
"Yeah, that about sums it up." Jack decided he liked her attitude as he shook her hand briefly. "So, where're you from, Haley Graham? And when?" Maybe she was repressing, or in denial, but it was definitely better than hysterics. He wondered what happened here when people went out of their minds, if the management had a way of making them disappear, then decided not to think about that.
"Hm...Nope." Jack shot her a charming grin. "2008, here." Currently, anyway. She didn't look like she needed any more shocks today, so he didn't explain further.
"You'll wanna get a room and get settled." He suggested. "It's a pretty big place. I've been here a few days and I'm not done exploring yet."
"You can help us try to get out." He suggested. "This place is full of people who somehow got here, and I think a good number of them want to leave." In fact, he hadn't met anybody who was really happy to be here yet. She really was pretty young, though, maybe she didn't want to get involved.
"C'mon, let's ge you a room." He turned to the registration desk.
"I'm a world champion gymnast. If that helps in any way though, let me know. I mean, I can put my legs behind my head and do a floor routine, but beyond that I'm pretty useless. Unless you want to count my History major which I still think is useless here. Whatever."
She liked doing what she did but it wouldn't help here.
"Sure. If you can find someone to help me out here."
Jack's eyebrows shot up as his mind filled with some fascinating options. He firmly reminded himself that she was in college, he was a good five times her age, and no matter how flexible she was, it wouldn't be fair or right. In other words, he'd wait for her to make the first move.
"Yeah, let's see." He went up to the desk and tapped the bell for the Bellboy. "If he's feeling chatty today."
(I took the liberty of pinging the mod, hopefully we'll have a reply from the Bellboy)
"We just call him the Bellboy. He's not really a talkative type." The keys had been handed over with barely a smile, and utter silence. Jack scowled the the retreating, uniformed back and shrugged. "Sorry, guess that's all we're getting this time. So...Welcome to Hotel California, I guess."

"Stuck? If there's a way in there has to be a way out."
She contemplated the idea that she could be stuck, that she wouldn't make it back to campus.
"You're just messing with me, aren't you?"
Smirk.

She holds out a hand.

She smiled at his comment.
"I guess that's all I can do around here. Right?"

She smiled slightly for a second before shrugging.
