An Open Letter to Estrogen

Apr 30, 2012 19:24

Dear Estrogen,

We have reached one of those 2-3 days out of every 27, where I am seriously wondering WTF kind of sick biological joke you are. It has been a good day, yet I want to go to bed, pull the covers over my head and cry. And every driver on the road (except me, of course) is ridiculously incapable of driving and should banned from driving and publicly whipped, if not shot. Would that I were kidding.

Irrational behavior in others is annoying. In myself, in this uncontrollable fashion? Intolerable. The effect of testosterone on male behavior is largely amusing and generally cute. Your effect on females however, is nothing short of humiliating.

At this point, the only thing that makes you bearable is knowing that withing 48 hours, these feelings too, shall pass. For another 3.5 weeks.

Our lifelong relationship is not impressing me, as you seem to grow more malevolent as the years pass.

Perhaps you should consider further evolutionary shifts. I'm not impressed with your current state.

Seriously Disgruntled Regards,
Me
