made to order, one Garden of Eden

Things were working well so far, with importing a garden into the Dark City. Daniel had found a place and did all the hard work, which was the mountain of paperwork. In the dark of the night, the soil was imported in from Harley's friend in Gotham. It was the finest soil around, which would provide plenty of stability for a future for the garden.

Sarah arrives a little later, dressed casually with her hair up in a kerchief. She looks eager to help with the planting. Too bad Belle couldn't come with her, but a talking plant creature would be a bit too much for the city to handle.

Sarah will see that Harley is over with Markus, they seem to be talking about something. As for April, she is sitting on Daniel's lap and playing peek-a-boo with Thorn.

[dr_schreber]

Schreber gives her a little wave. He's sitting on a small portable bench next to Thorn, and holding April. He's already been gardening she can probably tell from smudges of dirt on his cheek and his hands. Even his glasses are a little smudged.

Sarah waves back, an amused expression on her face. April is going to be quite the heartbreaker when she grows up. "Hi, there," she smiles, approaching them. She gives April a little tickle under her chin.

"We've been gardening." He smiles and points to April's plastic spade. It has holes in the handle from her biting it.

[harley_is_love]

April holds up her shovel "Ay Ril Elp!"

[sarah_branigan]

"Yes, I can see. You're a very good helper, April." She notices the holes in the shovel and looks at Daniel questioningly.

[dr_schreber]

"She's... ah... teething. But we're having a lesson. Tell... Sarah my name?" He's so pleased. Nobody gets his last name right on the first try.

[harley_is_love]

As a nurse, Sarah might clue in that April should be done teething at her physical age. "Arah." April points at the woman. "Oc Schhhrebbr" She points to Daniel.

[sarah_branigan]

"Still teething?" Sarah looks a little confused, then shrugs and kneels down so she's on eye level with April. "Very good!" she beams. "That's a hard name to say." She gives the baby another tickle. "How're your teeth, sweetie? Do they hurt coming in?"

"Most adults can't manage it." Schreber grins at Sarah. "She speaks very well." He's been reading a little but he figures Nexus vampire babies don't follow the rules.

[harley_is_love]

"Eeth?" April opens her mouth, where two budding fangs are the caus of all her pain.

[sarah_branigan]

"Why do you think I started calling you Daniel?" she teases. She offers Daniel a tissue. "You have a little dirt on your glasses."

"Yes, those are your... oh, my." Sarah is aware of April's unique heritage, but the fangs still come as a surprise. "Well, that explains the holes. Do you want something to chew on, April? Like a popsicle?" The cold ought to ease her teething.

"Ah, oops." He takes the tissue and tries to get his glasses off and clean them all with one hand. He's not sure he can let go of April. "My name isn't that hard."

[harley_is_love]

"Opsicle?" April questions. She looks around, then since Daniel is only holding her with one hand easily crawls out of his lap to stand on the bench. Looking around to the park vendors, she spots the ice cream man.

"Opsicle Arah! Opsicle!" She points in that direction.

((hair appointment, gone for an hour))

Sarah laughs at April's enthusiasm. "That's right, they're over there. I'll go get you one." She stands up and kisses April on the top of her head. "Do you want one?" She asks Daniel, kissing the top of his head, too.
